I have nothing but amazing things to say about this hotel.

We were fortunate enough to book this place last minute and we were extremely impressed. The spa facilities are immaculate; every detail has been considered. The highland cows around the spa are so CUTE 🐮 The lady that worked in the spa (I can’t remember her name!) was so lovely and friendly.

We then had our evening meal in the restaurant. Not only was the food amazing, but Joseph was one of the most friendly waiters I have come across. His welcoming, warm approach made us feel most relaxed.

What a lovely hotel! Will definitely be returning 🥰

We ventured to 1760 as part of our stay at the Barnsdale Hotel.

All the plates were well executed and tasty, and we left well fed. The wine list was well stocked and it was nice to be able to order a carafe.

Definitely worth a visit, with prices at £70-100 a head.

It would have been a lovely birthday evening except disastrously slow service, booked for 7:15pm, sat at table at 7pm, had to ask to order drinks and food arrived at 8:30pm. Food was lovely when came but pretty cross by that time! Didn’t have dessert as couldn’t face the wait. Thank goodness was half price Monday although didn’t fix the experience

We had a delicious Sunday roast here. We came with kids and elderly parents and they were all catered for beautifully. The service was first rate and the food was delicious - perfectly cooked meat and really thoughtful, tasty vegetable sides.

Excellent in every way. Food, service & atmosphere were excellent. If you’re after a recommendation, try the Beef Wellington / in a word - outstanding.

We were staying at the hotel for 2 nights and booked a table in the brasserie for the second night. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. We both had steak, it was a fatty cut and most was edible, but we've had better in a pub at a fraction of the price. Thankfully the starters and desserts were nice and that it was Monday and they had 50% off food, otherwise it would definitely not be worth the money! It is very expensive and somewhat style over substance.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a package for my partner’s birthday, and while I didn’t have high expectations for the food (given that it’s a hotel restaurant), we were pleasantly surprised!
On our first night, we had the beef Wellington, which was delicious—a real treat. The flavours were rich and cooked perfectly. On the second night, we enjoyed starters, followed by the roast dinner and dessert, which was again well prepared and full of flavour.
The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. From start to finish, our meals exceeded expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to dine here again. If I had one small niggle, it would be for the team to acknowledge my partner's birthday, which the reception team added to the booking. This acknowledgment would have made the experience even better. Nevertheless, if you're staying here, recommend the food - part of the restaurant is also dog friendly.
