We just visited this butcher for the first time and it’s safe to say I’ll be returning. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. They are very passionate about what they do and it shows. The selection of meats is impressive and high quality. If you’re looking for a proper old fashioned butcher with great service, look no further than N J Shallis!

Staff delightful, meat super quality. Bought some steak recently and it was genuinely the best I've had from a butcher or supermarket nationwide. Easy to park outside. Pricing very reasonable.

I cannot praise this Butcher enough, not only for their incredibly friendly and honest staff but also for the most amazing fresh Chicken and Beef that my daughter and I have ever tasted! I’m yet to try all their other displayed meats, but we just can’t stop having enough of their Yorkshire Roasting Chicken and Corner Cut Top Side Beef. This is by far the best butcher I have ever gone to for truly delicious meats. BTW - their cranberry and cream horseradish are also great!

Absolutely awesome old school high class butcher of the highest quality, selling a LOT more than meat. Heaps of fresh farm grade produce in proper chillers, with less plastic packaging. They sell game and fish as well. As well as their own sausages and some serious treacle cure lean back bacon in addition to the unsmoked, they have PIES! Also bakery goods from Simmons bakery, who are proper nommy (as found in a shop in Bushey Village too) and today I bought a Valentine's cake for MeJulie. A haven of utter foodie wonder, run by people who are darn proud of what they do. I feel lucky to live near enough for it to be local. I was a Saturday boy in a butcher...I worked on a massive deli counter for years and its easy to tell the quality of the operation. Come shop and be ready to impulse buy like hell..just be warned it's dangerous to shop here hungry.

Still an excellent family butcher. Has a wide range of high quality marinated and prepared cuts; Minted lamb, lemon pepper chicken, glazed pork ribs... etc... And everyone in there is really friendly and helpful.

Fantastic old school butchers. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Locally sourced beef. Love that I can get the more unusual cuts of meat like goat, mutton and rabbit, as well as Neil's award winning sausages. Definitely worth a visit if you want superb meat. Good choice of vegetables, sauces,bread. You can literally get your whole meal here . Thoroughly recommend
