Similar very bad experience as other have had.
Southern Rebore Services were asked to inspect a cylinder head and if all was ok to refurb said cylinder head.
They stated head was all ok so I instructed and duly paid for them to refurb it. When I came to fit the head there were loads (10+) of cracks in it so it obviously couldnt be refitted without further work or realistically chucking away….
To repair the head was going to cost at least another £600 on top of the £250 I had already spent Southern Rebore Services.
A very good quality warrantied brand new head is only £650.
I asked for a refund and would have settled for a partial refund but they just ignored my emails.
These guys either dont know what they are doing or they just dont care.

Try elsewhere. I took an engine down with the instruction for it to be fully tested so it was suitable for a rebuild. I paid over £500 and told it was all checked and good to go. Engine was rebuilt and on first start it was evident there was a large crack that was missed. Company is refusing responsibility yet they told me the engine was tested with no issues and good to be rebuilt. I am now down considerable expense from the work here and the cost of the rebuild and install. Around 2k down through no fault of my own. Best to go else where to someone who can provide a better service and hopefully avoid my issues.

Had a head skimmed at a very good price. The people were very helpful and explained everything. Got a small museum there with great cars .
