Interesting well set in a marble surround where you could take the waters in Victorian times. I think the well dates back earlier to 11th /12 century and may have been St Anne's well that was closed down by Thomas Cromwell during Henry VIIIs reign.

The cleanest changing rooms of any pool that isn't brand new.
I saw one lifeguard cleaning on his hands and knees with a scrubbing brush! All the locals knew him, so I guess that is the standard. Twenty minutes later, he encouraged my very nervous two year old into the pool.
Great staff, not expensive.

Everything about Buxton is great! It's Derbyshire's equivalent to Bath or Harrogate but the water tastes better! There are some wonderful places to eat and drink. We enjoyed the parks that are all wheelchair accessible, everywhere is so clean and free of litter, long may it stay that way!

Great to see Victorian beliefs, would their thoughts be considered in 21st century?
