The folks who handle their accounting, customer communications and logistics are very helpful. Unfortuntely, based on my experience, I cannot say this about the shop.

I found about JS by finding a great-looking catering tray on their web site which gave me the impression they were experienced in welding food-safe stainless steel products. Thus, I ordered a tray in 304 steel welded and CNC-milled which arrived promptly. However, the steel had a strong grey smut on the surface which was not compatible with food-safe usage. Strong hydroxide and acid treaments which I attemped myself did not resolve the issue.

The office helpfully provided me with the spec sheets of the steel from which I found that, according to the manufacturer, to function as stainless, the metal required additional treatment with nitric and hydrofluoric acid after manufacturing. I received no response from the office when asked if these treatments have been performed , and received no response when I asked for suggestions on where I can perform these additional treatments. The only response I received was that any cleaning was up to the customer.

Researching the issue and outsourcing these additional treatments costed me 2 months in logistsics and doubled the cost of the item.
