We purchased a flat that came with an old, malfunctioning alarm system. Despite the property being vacant for a considerable time after the previous owner's passing, Sussex Alarms continued charging for maintenance. We requested these payments to be stopped. Today, I inquired about having the system removed, as it occasionally goes off, disturbing the entire building. I was informed it would cost £400 just to disable the system, after which I would have to handle the physical removal myself. I expressed my disappointment, but no assistance was offered. Very poor service.

Sussex Alarms were great when I had the installation done and I could not fault Tony and the team. However, since they were taken over their fees have become unreasonably high and their customer service and flexibility has certainly dropped. I am decorating and need two sensors removed to paper the walls, they want £162 to remove the sensors (I cannot do it because they are tamper proof) I estimate this job would take no more than 15 minutes. Made worse because I have to pay the same amount to reinstall them after work complete. I was initially impressed with the small local company ethos however that seems to have been completely lost.

I have had pretty satisfactory service from Sussex Alarms for many years now. The annual maintenance contract price (which means one annual service visit and excludes problem call-outs) has not increased greatly over the period.
The only problem I now have is working out whether my contract is with Sussex Alarms or Spy Alarms. Neither the routine correspondence nor their separate websites make anything clear, and I do like to know with whom I am dealing. I appear to have acquired two account numbers, but which applies to which office I've no idea. Simply keeping existing customers informed would be a simple and obvious courtesy, but perhaps the takeover brought job cuts etc with it.

I recently went to the security market to obtain quotations for a new alarm and CCTV system as my existing was old and needed updating. I had several companies visit but Sussex Alarms were by far the most professional. From the initial engagement with the very knowledgeable surveyor (Tony) my mind was made up that Sussex were the right company of choice. The works were very competitively priced and the following installation works on both the Intruder Alarm (David) and the CCTV (Jamie) were carried out with real professionalism and in a very courteous manner. Would highly recommend Sussex Alarms they are true professionals across the entire process.

I've only used 3 alarm companies over the years, but I've been quite impressed with Sussex Alarms; the installation, which included a removal of a lot of old kit and running a whole load more was done quickly and professionally, and importantly to me, very neatly. The customer service has been good, I've been contacted regularly for alarm services and communicaiton is constant; I've only had 1 alarm notification, which was due to something hitting the outside door, but the end to end process was excellent when it occurred. I'd definatley recommend them.

Excellent from start to finish. As a real customer (unlike the bloke moaning below about them not buying his web services) we used Tony and the team at Sussex Alarms for a full alarm and CCTV system. From the initial site visit, pricing and the day of the installation the service and advice was excellent and we have gone on to recommend them to several friends.

I would highly recommend Sussex alarms. Very professional from start to finish, Sue in the office gave above and beyond perfect customer service. The engineers I have had out are a credit to the company, tidy ,polite and professional. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the fees are extremely reasonable. Five stars all the way.
