Awesome guitar building experience! I have just completed the 14 day guitar-building course, and found Alex to be an outstanding tutor. His woodworking studio has everything you'd need to build a guitar. With very limited previous woodworking experience I managed to build a beautiful parlour guitar, that also sounds incredible. Alex is an accomplished craftsman, and was patient and supportive as I went through the steps of taking disparate pieces of wood and fashioning them into an incredible instrument. Now all I need to do is to improve my playing so I can do justice to the guitar I built!

Alex is a really fantastic, approachable and knowledgeable person who hugely helped me get my custom built guitar back to where it needed to be. I originally went in thinking I'd need to replace fret positions, but Alex found ways around this that actually saved me money and time in the long run. He is a really honest and great guy who I'd happily visit again in the future, and plan to, for all my guitar related needs. Would hugely recommend!

Alex is a master craftsman. He did a neck reset, plane and refret on my 40 year old Fylde Orsino. (The neck angle was lifted and the neck itself bowed - the older ones don't have an adjustable truss rod, hence the neck planing). The work was done quickly and so neat you wouldn't know anything had touched it. He even sent me a vlog of the work. Plays like an electric now, but with the same Fylde tone. In the second photo, you can see the action (just about). Thanks Alex!

Alex was great- friendly, knowledgable and his enthusiasm for guitars and his trade was obvious. The work carried out was detailed to me and made very clear, with options explained and a very useful invoice / summary provided after the work had been carried out. He guitar now plays better than it did before and feels good. I would recommend Alex’s service to others!

A fantastic Luthier who is immersed in his craft, of building the most beautiful instruments. His repair work is second to none. You might pay a little more, but once you pick up the guitar, you will appreciate the high standard of work. I own one of his guitars. I have also had fret levelling/polishing and set up completed. Also a new bone nut and saddle on a cheaper Yamaha guitar, and this has taken the performance to the next level. Alex is also very pleasant to deal with and is currently passing on his skills in Luthiership classes that he runs from his workshop in Bristol. I absolutely recommend Alex Bishop Guitars.
