Good information boards located around the castle. It is small and you can park in the car park right next to it. A steep hill to the castle from the car park. Great views from the top.

Donnington Castle in on top of a hill, located in Newbury, Berkshire. It is part of an English Heritage and it is free to visit. You only have to pay a £2 parking via online.

The Castle is quite impressive. Its basically just a "ruin" bu it has its unique characteristic based on its history and how it is built.

You can visit the whole place within 15 minutes or less, depends on how you would like to see it.

It has good scenery and you can take lovely photos especially when there's no people around. I would say that it is worth to visit.

Very impressive 14th-century castle ruins atop a steep hill with just the gate-keep still standing, the rest of the castle having been demolished at the end of the English Civil War.

Very impressive views of the surrounding landscapes. The castle has numerous informative placks about its history, construction and ownership.

Entrance to the grounds is free. There is a small parking lot near the castle (£2 charge)

Don’t take the tour bus! Simply take the bus to there. It’s 12 pounds per each. You only walk a 1/3 of a mile. They charge $72 per each. It’s right there across from the rail station!

Castle ruins, free to visit and small car park is available. Views over Newbury are lovely and children like playing on the walls. Quite a steep hill up so not accessible for wheelchair users. There are many walking trails just off the castle with some woods directly behind it.

A lovely quiet keep just outside Newbury. You have to walk up a steep hill so if you struggle walking etc this might not be the place for you. Views fabulous.
No cafe or facilities so take your own drink.
A nice place to stop for a short time when travelling other places.
No entry fee
