I absolutely adore my Savernake Knife collection. All are from the Custom range with my specification Yew handles.
The lightness and sharpness of the blades give me complete control be it slicing the ripest tomatoes, carving the roast or chopping the toughest turnip.

I know a little about knives. I have a deep fascination of the craft and skill that goes into making and designing them. And a days prep slicing n dicing can be a joy with the right one in your hand. As a result I have too many knives from highly strung Japanese thoroughbreds to a few German hand-me-downs old enough to have a dubious past. But it is my Savernakes I use the most. Team at Savernake Knives know their stuff and they are helpful with making choices for size and type of knife as well as customisations. So chuffed with chef's knife I bought - so well made, stays sharp, high quality steel and carefully made. This is going to last a lifetime and I can see myself returning for another in the future. A fantastic experience. Having read about their knives I paid a visit to The Sawmill and was met and looked after by Philip. He gave me a very insightful tour of the workshop, taking time to explain all of the processes to me.
Having decided on the knife I wanted, we went through the handle options. The end result is a stunning, probably unique, knife of the highest quality arrived a few weeks later. It is superior to my Japanese knives and looks superb.
I cannot recommend enough, and ideally take the time to visit the workshop. I have subsequently bought another as a wedding present.
