This was my eighteenth stay in a Landmark property and it did not disappoint. It was a very small building, but it was still comfortable. The bathroom had a hot powerful shower, the kitchen was well equipped, the lounge was cozy and the beds were small singles, but comfortable, and every room had a great view. I had a relaxing and peaceful stay. There is no parking, but I found parking on a housing estate just round the corner.

A wonderful place to come on holiday. Fantastic views and a well cared for building. Not expensive mid week in December.

There are a few downsides which you should consider. It's tiny - it would feel crowded if two people were standing in the same room. There's a narrow spiral staircase so you wouldn't want to bring large luggage. The car park is in the village which is a moderate trek if you're carrying things. I wouldn't think about this if I had any kind of mobility issues.

Also the upsides: It's on the beach. The village is beautiful and peaceful. It's really handy for the station so perfect if you don't use a car. The pubs are really close by.

W. H. PETERS. Esqre of Harefield in Memory of his beloved wife MARY JANE. to commemorate her kindness and sympathy for the poor of Lympstone.

Oh, what a grand sight to behold,
The Lympstone Clock Tower, so tall and bold,
A beacon of history, standing so proud,
Telling the time to locals and visitors allowed.

Built in the Victorian era, a time so grand,
It's a testament to the skills of craftsmen's hand,
With its elegant design and sturdy build,
It's a marvel of engineering, and art fulfilled.

As I stood gazing up at this wondrous tower,
I felt transported to a bygone hour,
A time of steam and progress so vast,
Of innovation and discovery that lasted.

The clockface so big, the hands so strong,
The chime so loud, it could go on and on,
It's a pillar of history, a symbol so dear,
To the people of Lympstone, year after year.

Oh, what a wonder of the world,
The Lympstone Clock Tower, so grand and bold,
A true testament to the power of time,
And the spirit of innovation, so sublime!

The clock tower is owned by the Landmark Trust. You can not buy tickets or just go in, but you can view it from outside. Worth checking out if you're already in the village.

Bit odd rating a clock tower, but it's a pretty interesting one and you get good views across the estuary.

Staying in the tower is a truly unique experience, though a little challenging until you get used to it. The views are second to none! We’ve stayed twice now. Memorable!

The Lympstone Clock Tower actually comes pretty handy as a historical site; it would tell the time from a fair distance - to those on the train.
The Clock Tower has inspired me with making plans for one of my first watercolour postcards two years ago. I sketched it from on the pier, as well as sketching the houses nearby.
