From the initial contact with Lorna and Steve to book an additional night we were made to feel very welcome at this lovely bed and breakfast. Our first floor double en suite room, number 2, had windows overlooking the East Lyn River and towards the harbour. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before and was delicious with a good choice of cooked and continental options. Free car parking on site was an additional bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we were able to meet up with family from Essex who were staying elsewhere in Lynmouth and hope to book again next year.

There’s nothing you can fault about East Lyn House.. everything about it is fabulous. Lorna and Steve are such amazing hosts.. Steve’s full English breakfast was one of the best we’ve tasted and with fresh, local ingredients. The room was spotlessly clean with crisp linen and an extremely comfy bed. The location is great… our room had views directly overlooking the river but it’s also literally less than a 5 minute walk to the village centre and all the shops, great pubs and restaurants, and sea front. |We can’t wait to return! We knew we were going to enjoy this stay from the moment we arrived. Steve and Lorna were outside, guiding us when parking the car. The front of East Lyn House is on the road so parking involves driving down a slope into a garage. Not a problem, they were there to help and then to give us the most wonderful, friendly greeting. We immediately felt at home. ||Every aspect of their service and accommodation was elevated from that moment. Honestly, there was no way to fault anything. It was easy to treat the place like home because that’s how they made you feel. Breakfast was always a perfect start to the day. The flow and rush of the nearby river was a joy. Even the damp weather couldn’t spoil our stay. ||If you are looking to stay somewhere that feels like a home away from home, East Lyn House is perfect. It was for us.

My previous review got lost but no matter I can still remember all the details!
I stayed here with friends in summer of 2023 and it was the most magical weekend. We were greeted by two lovely hosts and their gorgeous dog. The food that was cooked was absolutely sublime, I still remember all the meals including a cooked breakfast each morning and that delicious mac & cheese! The rooms were very homely and cosy- exactly what you want! We all really enjoyed the stunning views of the river, the town and the nearby walks. We went to the local beach plenty of times as well as the towns nearby which are all a short distance away.

All in all with a lovely location and very gracious hosts it was the perfect weekend for a holiday!

This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. Firstly the location is perfect, a beautiful place to chill out and unwind. The patio area is such a relaxing place to sit and take in the views of the sae or up the river. The owners (Steve & Lorna) are delightful hosts. Lorna is front of house and makes you feel like part of the family. Steve serves an incredible breakfast, but he also makes himself available to help carry the luggage on arrival and departure. Must visit places are the Lynton & Lynmouth Railway and The Old Bank Restaurant. Definitely recommend.

Another lovely stay with Lorna and Steve, who are THE best hosts. Great b&b, super location and breakfast/evening drinks on the terrace - what’s not to like! Rooms are lovely with views up the river and down towards the town. A selection of restaurants close by - can recommend No.10 in Lynton for good Italian food with a small terrace at the back. Easy reach of Watersmeet, Valley of Rocks, Woolacombe, ilfracombe and Exmoor. We will definitely return.

This is the best B &B we have ever stayed in. The hosts Lorna and Steve make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was clean, comfortable with coffee, tea and biscuits provided and a lovely view of the river and sea. Good choice of breakfast either cooked or continental. Easy access to Watermeet river walk and Lynmouth itself. There is also a lovely sun terrace where you can sit and watch the sun go down. We have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation and will definitely be returning. Carol & Russell
