I decided to book here having spent an afternoon last year drinking and playing darts/pool. Although the darts and pool have now gone this lovely little pub/B&B is wonderful. We booked a 2 night break including breakfast. On arrival we received a warm welcome and I was pleasantly surprised by the room and beautiful bathroom. The food in the restaurant was lovely and breakfast full English was the best I’ve ever had in a B&B.

Wonderful very peaceful location with amazing costal walks down to beautiful lynmouth.

Great little pub in a romantic windswept location! I stayed in one of the nicest bigger rooms at the front of the pub for two nights with three friends, who all had separate rooms which were at the back of the pub, but no less comfortable. Upon arrival the lady on reception was instantly friendly and lovely and sorted all four of us out with our rooms. We came down for dinner that night which was great and very enjoyable. The second night we had drinks in the bar area and played board games (and I had a cheeky warm chocolate brownie and ice cream!). Parking was easy, across the road from the pub, the weather was interestingly blowy which added to the spooky atmosphere and rattled my windows something rotten all night but it all added to the experience! We hoped to see the resident ghost in the bar but no such luck! Great location to visit Lynton, Lynmouth and Dunster Castle! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, breakfast was brilliant, staff were fantastic. The room decor is not as plush as some of the other St Austell pubs I’ve been to but it has its charm and certainly has a homely feel to it. I would stay again!

We had a wonderful few days staying at the Blue Ball Inn. We arrived on a Sunday evening and had a delicious Sunday roast ( although they did charge extra for cauliflower cheese, which was a shame). The Inn is a lovely old building, with lots of different places to sit beside roaring fires. Unfortunately, none of the fires were lit, and the place was a bit chilly on the first night. The breakfast menu was extensive and everything we had was delicious. We also took advantage of the 2 meals for £25, early evening offer. The food was spectacular! I had moules frites and my husband had chicken and ribs, can't recommend highly enough.|The room was lovely and bathroom excellent. The Inn is only a few hundred metres from the SW coastpath, so is an excellent base for some testing walks ! 5 minutes drive into Lynmouth. |The staff were lovely too.|We will definitely be returning. My wife and I stopped here for food on our way home and it was such a lovely experience. The staff were so nice and were really friendly. They made such a fuss of our dog and gave him some sausages to snack on. Food was great and really was the perfect end to our day trip to Devon. I honestly have never seen so many dogs in a pub!

We stayed here recently, as we have for many years, with Hugo our springer spaniel.
The weather was kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day break.
The staff were really good as usual and they coped well at a difficult time, as they were in the middle of a big change in their set-up.
The food and drink was very enjoyable, despite being a bit limited due to above situation.
We will certainly be back next year and look forward to seeing the place back to the normal first class location in a superb setting.

Really lovely room with very nice bathroom. Great service. Very hearty breakfast with all the trimmings. Not so keen on the piped music in the public areas. Fantastic coastal path for walks just outside the hotel and spectacular places to visit nearby. Really enjoyed our stay.

To start 2025, we had a three night stay at the Blue Ball Inn and what a relaxed way to begin! All the staff are friendly and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. Food was delicious especially the breakfasts and the location was wonderful for walks. Enjoyed a drink or two in front of one of the warming fires.
Our room was clean and comfortable.
Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Good day all|Well I don't write on these sites as a rule but feel I need too! In all fairness the bar and restaurant was nice food reasonably priced the drinks well that's another story! City prices well over £20 for two doubles with a splash , on venturing to our rooms they were cold , oK it's February but none the less you thought it may have been a little warmer the walls no exaggeration I'm sure they were a wood studded partitions as you could hear the next room having a good conversation 😀 which I did find quite amusing ,but on a more serious note would I stay here again absolutely not ,I know its each to there own just my opinion I think it's way over priced for what you get , I will say in there defense very nice breakfast but again the rooms let it down NOT the STAFF THE ROOMS | Regards
