I had such a wonderful weekend learning Indian Minature Painting at Moor & Sea! Bridget & Richard took such great care of us all with plenty of hot drinks, cakes and home cooked food! The painting course was a brilliant opportunity to develop a new skill and our teacher Sam was super friendly and helpful, all in all such a lovely weekend!

In January I made a return visit to the Indian Miniature Painting courses run by Samantha Buckley ... every course I have been to has been excellent and this was no exception. The course was well structured with time spent learning about preparing the paints and the paper (all material were included) ... making a drawing of our chosen animal and transferring it onto our paper ... outlining it with the special super fine Indian brush ... and then painting firstly 'flooding' out the main areas with colour and afterwards adding layers of fine detail finishing with a special gold gouache for highlights. Sam was on hand to provide full tuition at all stages and individual help and advice so I always felt 'looked after' and I was very pleased with my painting. The mood of the class was lovely ... and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute ! The delish homemade cakes ... and the teas and coffees provided plus the lovely lunches really helped keep me happy and my energy levels up ... I highly recommend this course !

I had a wonderful few days at Moor and Sea holidays, our tutor Richard Suckling was great, very generous with his time to each student and gave constructive and encouraging advice. The Lodge was warm and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. Food provided for lunch was fabulous - we had a different choice of soups, dips and breads each day and cakes midmorning. Altogether a brilliant place to stay and am easy 5 stars! Thank you Bridget and Richard for your hospitality.

In September I attended an Indian Miniature Painting course at Moor and Sea. The course was amazing, I learnt so much in 3 days and was able to complete a wonderful painting to hang at home. The instructor was excellent, very clear and informative instruction but at the same time we had a lot of fun. The hospitality was first rate, delicious food, all freshly prepared. I would certainly recommend people to try any of the various courses they have to offer.

I stayed again at Moor and Sea and attended the course, Charcoal Sketchbooks with Kate Boucher - It was excellent, as was the hospitality provided by Bridget and Richard, who are lovely and extremely generous with their time and kindness. The lodge I stayed in was spotless, comfortable and contains everything you might need. I am looking forward to returning again.

A wonderful few days spent at Rock Pippet. The lodges are beautifully and thoughtfully arranged and the views gorgeous.
I was there for an art workshop.. Indian Miniature painting with Samantha Buckley. A form that I would really recommend… even if you have no experience of painting or drawing.. Sam is a great and fun teacher and Bridget and Richard kept us supplied with delicious cakes and lunches.. I cant think of anywhere I would rather stay!

I recently attended a craft course to paint Indian miniature birds at Moor & Sea. The course was excellent and I now have my picture on the wall at home. The venue was great for the painting course, the workshop had plenty of light and was warm and spacious. The catering was amazing, really brilliant cakes and a lovely home made lunch every day. Looking forward to going back to do another course.
