Edit: Oct 2024 - I can’t believe I am still using this TV fixed by Stuart 4 years ago. Still working as it was after getting it fixed.

Edit: After a few weeks
We could see a faint shadow at the same place as shown in picture even after back lit LED replacement (though 90 % lesser than what is shown in image). In fact we noticed it when picking up the TV but at that time it didn't feel much. As Stuart suggested, it is because the multiple layers of sheets in the TV were grayed out due to using the TV for a few hours after fault occurred. This shadow is more visible with lighter background than darker ones. It is a bit put-off for the eyes, hopefully I will start ignoring it after a few months. So the moral of the story is, if you see this problem, switch off the TV immediately and get it checked.

Our 4 year old Samsung 55 inch Curved TV started to show a vertical shadow towards right side of the screen. After being quoted by Samsung Customer care "It is better to buy a new TV instead of trying to get the old one repaired" I wasn't convinced.

When I googled for a technician Stuart from SJS TV stood out with outstanding expertise and customer service (seen from customer reviews). But the problem was I live 65 miles away from the service centre. In-spite of that I contacted Stuart and he was very quick to respond and offer initial diagnosis (back lit LED fault which he said were very common with LED TVs).

Stuart suggested to find a local technician but I insisted to get my TV repaired by SJS themselves. Glad that I traveled so far...Stuart kept me informed on every step of repair and he called me up only when he was happy with the results (he ran the TV for a number of hours to see if the shadow fully disappeared).

The TV was dropped at their centre on Saturday and I picked it up today (Saturday). So within 7 days, the TV is back and the family is very happy. And I saved around £ 800. I am going to use the TV at least for a couple of years before deciding to upgrade. Stuart also offered technical advice on the new TV to upgrade to. Over all very pleasant experience. Once again Stuart and SJS came to the rescue to repair our kitchen TV.

We had the infamous spotlights/white dots on the screen, which was the LED’s failing.

This is the fourth time we have used SJS and each time has been great service and great value.

Not only have we saved money compared to replacing, but feel it is a contribution to the environment by not throwing something repairable away.

My Samsung One connect box had an issue with the fan.... I thought I'd take a punt and buy a fan and replace it (cheaper than a new tv)

Saw SJS had some in stock, and was worried that SJS wasn't a "shop" (looked at google maps_), but how wrong was I.......

Ordered the part yesterday and part arrived today! Just installed the new fan which was sealed in plastic, in great packaging and it works!!!!

TV is now working as it should and I will highly recommend SJS...

Reasonable price, no ebay rubbish just an easy process...
