We came to see a museum and found the history rich Town & Abbey! First King to unite the kingdoms, exchanged all the currency for one kind (his name on it), named the area England. Off the beaten path and doesn’t disappoint. I wish I had more time to visit the independent little shops.

17/01/2025: Visited Malmesbury afew times but this was my first foray into the Abbey. Thank goodness it survives to give us an insight into its past. Wonderful intricate entrance and a tri-stained glass window by one of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, maybe Rossetti.

Apart from the beauty of the Abbey, it's nice to not be constantly pestered for a donation especially when you're a pensioner. Recommended the cafe in the body of the building.

Moderately interesting but not super impressive, the remains of the abbey turned into a village church fail to impress as a grand spectacle, but offer an insight into the turbulent history of the church of England.
