Was invited to Bovingdon Airfield Studios to report for The Bovingdon Villager newspaper. Superb high tech 100 acre studio complex just 30 miles from central London offering a fantastic mix of sound stages, multi surface backlots, production offices and parking. Plans for more development and rebuild of the iconic wartime RAF and US Air Force control tower too. Great asset to the UK film and TV industry and the local economy... super friendly staff too

Lovely market but with the restrictions they have in place i think i will wait a while until i go again we spent well over a hour to just get in to the market bit , no children are allowed and they were turning young people away if they didn't have identity with them , which was annoying if you have been waiting in the cold and rain for over a hour to get in . Just all seems a bit harsh all the restrictions when it is outside but the market itself was nice . Would give 5 stars but waiting in the cold and rain for well over a hour spoilt it

Usually quite like it but it was caos when we went. No children aloud. Which was ok. Took ages to find it as instruction confused us, when we got there took ages to park as way out crossed by que of people trying to get in, only few in at a time, covid rules.
I think someone trying to get out must have called police as by the time i got near to front of que police there letting cars out and stopping them only when more people aloud in.
I would have expected Bov officials could have worked that out themselves.

My father was stationed at Bovingdon Air Field, 1954-58. Our family lived on Windmill Hill in Chipperfield. I attended Durrants Secondary Modern School in Croxley Green. My father was Sgt in US Air Force. At this time, 2022, I live in Las Vegas Nevada USA. My memories, of England, are vivid and heartwarming. I was a choir boy at St. Pauls in Chipperfield.
