Popped in today to get my first ever camera and I have to say what an amazing bunch of people!! So friendly and helpful, didn’t make me feel silly for asking questions at all! I would definitely recommend this shop even if you just need information!

Patient explanation of a range of binoculars, excellent demystification of technical terms, and lots of testing different models until I decided. If you need a Passport photo to renew your Passport, I highly recommend you use their service. It is quick and efficient, and you will have a half decent image to add to your online application. It's all done digitally via a Code No. Before you think £14.99 is lot to pay out, think again. A Photo Booth DIY job in a supermarket will cost you £12.99! and it will be more hassle.

Have bought several items from here over the years: monocular, binoculars and sundries. Every time the staff have been friendly, professional, helpful and have great technical knowledge, happy to assist in my purchases. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Excellent little shop that offers many services, I have had passport photos done here which were perfect, great printing service and well stocked with film, cameras, lenses and basically all equipment you could need if you’re more of a professional too. Staff are really friendly and always offer great advice to someone like myself who doesn’t know much about it all. Forget boots and the likes who charge a premium and support competitively priced independents like this!

Went into this shop today to help my friend spend her money. She had contacted Nick beforehand, explained what she wanted, and he got the cameras in. Excellent communication and service in the shop. Huge shout out to Nick! I popped into D. H James today to find a camera for work. I advised my budget and requirements and Nick went above and beyond to help and even took example shots to show me the quality of the camera before purchasing it. I cannot stress how important it is to support our high street stores! Not only are you supporting local, but you're also getting a personal service too. Thank you so much Nick!

Nick, Chris & the team are more than helpful, they are my go to place to purchase all of my camera equipment, an get any advice, they are an independent shop in my local town (well city, Wells being the smallest city in England) an we all need to support to small guy, an not let the big chains dominate.!!
Their prices are great and they will price match, so I give my custom to them any day, great range of stock, from the compact cameras right up to the big cameras, telescope, binoculars and a plethora of good quality accessories if they've not got it I'm sure they can get in what you are looking for.!
Printing photos, canvas an make frames too.!
They also have a selection on secondhand camera bodies and lens, you can grab a great bargain.
I'm sure I've probably missed out other things they do, so basically give them a call, look on their website, or better still pop in an say hello.!
