Don’t often leave reviews but wanted to shout out Lakeside for a seamless hire.

I’m a DIY customer and needed a narrow stair scaffold for a weekend. Next day delivery was booked in without a problem, and when the scaffold I was looking for was out of stock, they upgraded me without charge.

Lakeside accommodated my morning delivery preference and I received a call and tracking link 30 mins before delivery. Despite calling late on Friday to arrange collection, I had a driver with me at 9.30am on Monday.

Price was very reasonable and now the work is finished I don’t know how I’d have done it without the hire. Couldn’t recommend enough.

I had the opportunity to use the hire service for
stair scaffold.
I would never ever use them again as the service is terrible.

you need to understand they are Middle MAN and hire the
stuff from actual hire company.
First problem you do not get advance notice when the delivery is going to be only window of full day waiting.

Second the hire begins from when you hire from them and not from date of delivery which is ridicules especially when you order two days in advance and delivery is two days later and then they tell you this after its been hired.
So I was short of days for hire because of this.

Communication is 0 as they do not know what they do as middle man as take only money and thats enough. Absolutly not flexible communication
and its definitely better to go direct to source.

kind of waste of time

find your self direct source as they are plenty in each city.

Really bad experience with them, they extra charge me for some lies about damaging I don't know what. When I make sure all was assembled and dessasembled the way need to be. Also when the driver comes to collect the scaffolding we nicely had mach all the scaffolding parts just to be easy to be collected.
No proof no picture if the damage no nothing, sadly they just invoice me.
I'll never use them again.

From the first point of payment right until receiving my item, it wasn’t a great experience. I paid for a rental fee only to be told that they couldn’t collect it at the end date due to their offices being closed and I had to pay extra to keep the item for a longer period when I didn’t need to use it. I spoke to Tim Gardner and he couldn’t wavier this despite it being no fault of mine. I then received my item to use it for 45 minutes and the belt snapped. I couldn’t contact their offices as they were closed so due to my building work needing to continue I had no choice to hire my item elsewhere. I contacted Lakeside Hire regarding what had happened and I haven’t received any response regarding a refund.

My issue wasn’t the belt snapping as I understand things like this can happen, however, the aftercare has been disappointing. Looking at the reviews it seems they have very positive ones hence my order. However, I can’t say mine was great and I was very disappointed with the overall customer service and aftercare.

Really great company and I would definitely use them again. I got a follow up call the day after my scaffold tower was delivered to see if everything was OK. I spoke to Michaela and told her that everything was fine bur that I could do with an additional platform. She said she’d see what she could do and about 20 minutes later emailed to say that the supplier would drop another one off the next day. For the height of the tower a third platform was pretty much essential and made using the tower much easier. All in all cost, customer service and equipment quality would mean I won’t go to another company if I need a scaffold tower again.

I have been using this company for a little over three years and ordered MANY times. We have used their scaffolding towers often & always paid upfront and had no issues. They have all of a sudden started doing credit checks without permission & our company was refused and a refund was given (with no phone call when I was told I would be called) even though I paid in full by DEBIT card, which means the money was there and being held by them. Our company doesn't have the best credit history because we are new and unexperienced in running a full time business of our scale. I have never once asked for credit and to get an email, the day before I'm due to do a job, to be told they would be unable to supply our company, makes me want to tell everyone to avoid! They've lost a loyal customer and I've had to upset one of our valued customers!
