Parking was easy and we purchased tickets in advance so plain sailing on entrance. The grounds are beautifully kept and the castle was stunning even though it was a grey overcast day. We got to see a few of the deer which was nice. We ate in the onsite cafe and it was very nice and good value for money. It does get very busy but there is seating outside as well . Plenty of places for picnics as well. We spent a good 4 hours here but could have spent longer if weather was nicer.

Raby Castle is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The castle itself is grand and full of history, with stunning rooms and lovely guides who share fascinating stories about its past. Each room has something unique to see, from antique furniture to family portraits.

Outside, the deer park is wide and scenic, with herds of red and fallow deer roaming freely. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk and taking in the fresh air and views.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Easter farmers market. "We" decided to pay a visit and obtained early bird tickets to get in for £2 each. Parking was a doddle and warden controlled. Strolled through the market. Wide variety of stalls outdoors and inside. I had a sausage bap while my wife enjoyed a delicious Nutella crepe. We then strolled through to the coffee van and purchased a flat white and a tea. Weather was a bit dull but we still sat outside on the huge wooden benches near the vinery. Our journey to the exit was through the fantastic grounds of the Raby Estate. Highly recommend a visit.

The castle was excellent, our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Saw plenty of deer in the deer park. Gardens were a bit bare but we expected that with it only being the beginning of April.
Lovely tearooms with beautiful views.

Had a great family day out yesterday at Raby castle. Was fantastic day could not fault anything. Grounds was immaculate , every detail, walled gardens kids loved also with the plant seeding event. Then the potters treetop adventure park then into castle very impressive with chandeliers to royal bedrooms. Then we went onto reindeer park where the reindeer roam about freely great to experience with the kids.
Dog came with us also. Not parts not allowed is castle and potters treetop adventure park.
Staff so friendly and plenty to ask if need any help. If down that was again would definitely visit again.

We went here for an afternoon out, as we had a dog, we visited the gardens and deer park only.
£15 for an adult, included access to the shop and coach yard and stable.

You get to walk with the deers and they are friendly enough not to move too far away and generally stayed sat.

The ponds were nice and you can walk right around the castle for a great view.

Cafe was expensive but to be expected when that’s the only option. The food was ok, nothing special. £9 for a chibatta breakfast roll , £3.95 for a scone. However the cafe is nicely looked after.

Tickets were purchased on arrival and there was no wait.

Raby was a favourite getaway of many aristocrats, and for a very good reason. The current Lady Barnard has done an amazing job at making it a wonderful experience for visitors. I can highly recommend the different tours of the castle, not only are the guides knowledgeable, but very entertaining and passionate about the history and sharing it with visitors. All the volunteers are also very helpful and keen to share information. Ask questions, and if they can't answer, they will find someone who can. Worth every penny!
