This is my absolute favourite station! Kira is my favourite lady to interact with and always puts a smile on my face. All of the staff here are lovely and ever so respectful it’s a pleasure to pass through. From the guards to the platform staff you know you’re looked after and treated well. Thank you everyone! It’s easy to complain but it feels so much better to compliment.

There is a lot of change going at the present time. There is no central bus station anymore. However, signage does help someone find the right bus stop. I'm very critical with regard to public wheelchair accessible toilets. The single that did exist was at the bus station, which is now a commercial building being constructed at the present time. Granted, there are some businesses like McDonald's that do have wheelchair and disabled persons toilets. However, it's my experience that they are often closed.
Sadly, due to austerity measures, some of the big names, such as
C & A, Marks and Spencer, and some smaller businesses shut in recent times. What shops there are pretty decent with the likes of Primark and the reinvigorated shopping centre with the likes of Waterstones and others offering shopping opportunities there for we consumers. There are other attractions, such as the WW2 bomb shelters, and there are architectural attractions, e.g., old buildings, bridges, and so on. In particularthe magnificent railway arches which, honestly, impossible to miss! Sort out the public disabled persons toilet Stockport Council, please! That is why I rated Stockport 4 stars and not five.

The lady at the counter Teresa is an absolute nightmare. She is exceptionally rude both with the tone of her voice and her face. She was very unhelpful and had an attitude for no reason at all. Worst experience and spoilt my morning for a good few hours.

The train station was clean, and the automatic turnstiles worked perfectly. The train arrived on time too! The coffee machine at the platform shop had a large line, but I was not in it. Just an observation.

Stockport train center is a major communication hub for Stockport residents. There are total 4 platforms. UBER and other taxi services available here. Nice and clean and usually less crowded. Just next to the station there is a Sainsbury local supermarket.
