Stockport Hydro is a Community owned scheme run by volunteers which has been supplying clean electricity into the National Grid since October 2012. It replaces 100 tonnes of CO2 each year. Interesting to watch. Easy to visit. Ben Alexander (Chairman)

Stockport's Hydroelectric power station! Due to the low drop in height of the river there and the need to protect fish swimming through, its a small scale Archimedes screw hydro . This means 90% is on show ") and quite interesting to watch. Anytime of day.
