Having completed the Student Development Consultation evening, it's so reassuring to see first hand how the school has adapted to our current challenges for remote learning.

We have watched with interest since the current Headmaster has arrived and continues to implement positive change. Huge credit has to go to his teaching staff. So committed and passionate about our child's welfare and education. We have seen marked improvements in study and results and we are delighted.

The school, headmaster and staff continue to impress and we are delighted to be part of the BEA community. We can absolutely recommend it to any local family selecting schools.

Our children have thrived at BEA and are on course to achieve their GCSEs. The school have provided excellent home learning and communication has been brilliant. I have always been able to contact staff quickly and the support provided during this last year has been outstanding. The curriculum offers opportunities to extend my childrens knowledge and the school supports them on a pastoral and academic level well. We have always been so happy with BEA we have had no hesitation in the decision to send our other children there for the next academic year.

Following a very trying year for teachers and students country wide I am delighted to have experienced such a positive Student Development Consultation with our teaching staff today. BEA have replaced the traditional Parents Evening and are moving with the times to focus on life and leadership skills, personal development as well as keeping academic progress and mental wellbeing high on the list. I have Y11, Y9 and Y7 students at the school who all have very different needs and the Virtual School provision has been brilliant. Very professional and focussed sessions that were very helpful as a working parent trying to support all 3 children in their education at home.

The teachers at this school are passionate about education. The support they give their students is outstanding, in both the subject areas and pastoral care. Communication with parents is excellent.
During these troubling times the virtual school has been well organised and the staff at Bourne End Academy have gone above and beyond to ensure our children's safety and wellbeing.
Big thank you to you all, you are a credit to your profession!

My eldest daughter has started in Year 7 this year. It is an anxious time for everyone due to the pandemic but the school have been wonderfully reassuring, available for chats and the communication has been excellent. It seems to have gained a negative reputation in the past but that certainly hasn't been our experience. Thank you so much to all the staff who have worked so very hard, we really appreciate you.

unfortunate poor new leadership really letting the school down. Enjoyment of being a leader outweighs understanding of effective leadership styles. Very oppressive environment and dictatorship as even reported by staff. A number of Staff talk to children very rudely showing them no respect so in turn children have become more disrespectful and the behaviour at the school has deteriorated to the point a teacher was hurt. The toilets are locked other than at break times when the whole school are then expected to use them! If they do not manage this and ask to go during a lesson they are rudely refused. Even after complaining to the school that girls at this age in particular may need to go to the toilet other than at these set times teachers still refuse. parents have had to bring in clean underwear and clothes during the school day because their daughters cannot access their basic human right. Girl given 50 minute detention for asking to go to toilet and when refused informed the female teacher she really has to and needs to go but was still refused, told off and given a 50 minute detention. Multiple occasions of racism at the school by various pupils which are dealt with ineffectively hence the continuing issue as there are no real repercussions and excuses are made such as they didn’t understand the meaning or that’s how they greet each other even though they are not of ethnic minority! Focus is all on the wrong things such as trying to assert authority rather than dealing with real issues effectively. .Complaints are not well received by headteacher who is very defensive so no lessons learnt.
