We received a lovely warm welcome this afternoon when we popped in for a coffee and hot chocolate, both of which were very reasonably priced.

We are looking forward to cooking the joint of beef we purchased once it's defrosted. It looks like it will cook up perfectly and plan to be back in a few weeks for some more.

The directions were given worked perfectly, and we avoided the traffic 👌 Thank you.

This lovely horse was grazing by the ford as we left.

Unhelpful and rude woman served us. All members of our party were making a purchase in the shop and yet were refused a water refill for our reusable bottles. She was very rude about it too and insisted instead that we should buy a plastic bottle of water. I would not recommend walkers or cyclists stop here. Obviously not encouraging people to travel sustainably or keen to reduce single use plastic despite being in a National Park.

Fantastic campsite, nice and basic which is the way it should be. Toilets were clean and the site was quiet we shall definitely be returning.

Excellent choice of local meat. Had the wild venison steaks and they were delicious 😋 have also had the mince beef, sausages and belly pork and all were so tasty. Crackling on pork was amazing

A lovely setting serving delicious ham and pork pies. The cream tea ladies were friendly and welcoming! Unfortunately the rude service from the lady in the farm shop would put us off returning in the future. Be warned… she does NOT serve sandwiches and does NOT take kindly to those who ask.

Absolutely fabulous little farm shop - a real gem tucked away in the Forest! We had the pleasure of staying in the nearby holiday cottage let separately by the owner's relatives and found ourselves popping in to the shop most days to pick up some of their delicious home reared, home made produce! For a small farm shop, it is well stocked with a wide range of produce from local independents to well known brands - such as the very yummy Jude's ice cream!

Wendy, Richard and their sons could not have been more welcoming to our family - particularly our 2 year old son who was fascinated by their farm, animals (the chickens!!) and of course the delicious treats in the shop! We cannot thank them enough for their hospitality each time we visited their shop and also being friendly faces to chat with when we were coming or going from the cottage.

If you happen to be passing nearby then a visit is a must!
We will be back! 🙂

Great farm shop selling delicious meat and other produce. Very friendly and helpful owners, always willing to bring our order to our local farmers market. Great value for money, this is the only meat we buy now.
