This review reflects the awful way this agency deals with potential tenants. We "failed" their referencing process,one that we’ve successfully passed with several other agencies. Their communication is abysmal; they ignore emails, fail to return calls as promised, and even contradict themselves, lying and shifting blame onto you.
You have to chase them constantly just to move the process forward. Meanwhile, they take a holding deposit while the property remains listed online.
Frankly, it feels like a relief that we weren’t approved. The stress of dealing with this agency during a tenancy would be unbearable. If they can’t handle referencing efficiently and transparently, how would they respond to any issues with the property?

Avoid this agency at all costs if you value your time and peace of mind.

I can not express how much I would recommend Addisons to anyone wanting a property in/around Barnard Castle!
I have been using Addisons for nearly 4 years and has been nothing but OUTSTANDING service - especially Marie.

Another company in Barnard Castle had been in the process of selling my flat. I found out from that same (poor) company, that the buyer of my flat pulled out of the purchase WEEKS before me even chasing it up. This left me infuriated and upset as I had lost £500 on progressing with an unwanted mortgage for a house (as I would of been homeless otherwise). Not just the money loss, but the AMOUNT of stress that came with a 22 year old getting a mortgage.

Marie took the time to listen to me and understand my upset at the situation. She went OUT OF HER WAY to ensure I had a new contract in place - stating I could stay in my flat another year (so I could save more for a house I want). Her communication between myself and other parties involved has been absolutely amazing. Can't thank Addisons enough.

Avoid letting a property from this company.
Their properties are poor standard.
Had mould constantly that was unhealthy and they didn't fix it in almost 3 years.
They evicted me for complaining. Now trying to keep my deposit for wear and tear on the property.

Had a couple of dealings with the BC office in the past, depending on the staff member depends on service. Emailed 10 days ago to request a viewing not even an acknowledgment. Same route I have contacted them before and did get a response.
