I pay every month for a yearly service & breakdown cover. The yearly 'service' is a shambles - they expect you to wait in all day for someone to come and do a quick 10 minute 'inspection'....it's a waste of money in my opinion.

Would 100% not recommend this company to anyone looking for cover
They’ve taken £600 off me in the last 4 years for cover, they visit once a year for a service and have installed some wadding in the boiler in the last 4 years. That’s it
I’m not being told my plate heat exchanger is blocked and lo and behold this isn’t covered. £318 on top of the £600 they’ve had off me: this year they didn’t even get in touch to arrange my service I had to call them when I realised it hasn’t been done.
Absolute joke of a company and whoever the smarmy bloke who answers the phone needs a lesson in manners, he couldn’t sound less interested in his job, doesn’t even say goodbye just hangs up. Didn’t even aplogise that my service had been missed and talks over you to just try and get you off the phone

We took Alphas homecare central heating boiler etc cover out in January 2019. Top cover £25. About a week ago Nov 2019 my boiler started playing up, so i gave Alpha Therm a call. The guy i spoke to was'nt really interested in what i was telling him, and then proceeded to tell me that he was sure it was the thermostat and not the boiler and because the thermostat was'nt fitted by Alpha if an engineer comes out they would charge me a £70 call out charge and would have to give him my debit card details so they could take that money from my account and if it was'nt the thermostat it would go back into my account immediately, i had no choice. He also advised me to get someone else out to check the thermostat. I did this at extra cost to myself only for the eletrician to tell me it was 100% the boiler. An engineer from Alpha came round a couple of days later, i explained what was happening with the boiler and without even looking at it he new what was wrong, what a surprise it was the boiler. I've phoned Alpha three times since and seven days later i am still waiting for my £70 to be put back into my account, absolutely shocking. My advice to anyone thinking of taking any cover out with them think again and go somewhere else. I give one star just to get review on.
