My baby daughter and I have been made to feel very unwelcome here, because of one of the Maltings members of staff. Last week, I was trying to calm my baby down as she was really upset. When I took her downstairs to use the toilet she had a complete meltdown, because of the noise generated by the hand dryer, (they are loud, and the noise reverberates inside the room). I then took her upstairs to try to soothe her, and it was then that I realised that she’d had a poo. By this point, she was almost consolable because she’d been in so much discomfort for so long. (The doctor later confirmed that she’d been suffering from constipation all week, so going to the toilet was very painful for her). One of the staff members came out of the office and insisted that I take her downstairs to change her, due to ‘safeguarding’ reasons. What I don’t understand is why we weren’t directed to the baby change facilities on the ground floor? It was news to me that these even existed until I spoke to my friends about this. Instead, we were made to feel like a nuisance and a pain for being there. We had the whole area to ourselves, so I don’t understand why we were moved on. This is supposed to be a Church, and they claim to want families to use the space, so why do they dislike families with young children being there? In short, it’s a lovely venue, but it’s a shame about the staff!

Great place to go for events. I was there for a cake and book sale to fund my friend to go to a part of Africa and help children in school there. She is an occupational therapist specialising in children. It was really good and easy to book the venue. There were also a bunch of clubs on there as well such as a children's rock music club. MACMILLAN Charity Christmas bazaar. There were some delightful items. I bought a hand crafted silver necklace and earrings for my youngest daughter's 40th birthday.

Super building for a Church meeting with plenty of rooms downstairs for other groups. Nice kitchen area and bathroom facilities. Good amount of off-street parking.

A lovely modern venue for large meetings and music events. Constructed with lots of wooden beams and metal brackets to link to past buildings on the site and give it a great historic feel to an up to date meeting space.
