Jimmy Carpenter and Hayden Pott made me feel so comfortable explaining my story. Thanks for taking time out to have me (and my mom).
I hope I've inspired others to build their life up after trauma. Positive permanent wellbeing.

Nice community open centre where the broadcasting action happens! Some events and community projects here but it's main role is to act as the site of Leicester's most professional local radio station!

It's a modern facility, and it's actually the first regional BBC station ever! They have some spaces for events, and the building is open to the public (and they broadcast perfectly good local news), but the modern building is nothing spectacular to visit

Recently had the opportunity to speak on your morning radio show, the people I spoke to were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my story, however the time given to you when you are live is just not long enough to get your point across.

ā€œFIRST ON THE AIR AND STILL NUMBER ONEā€
... sang a jingle on this Local BBC Radio stations launch which to this day continues to reflect the lives of the people in the city and county it serves.

Regular opportunities for listeners to get involved and events like the Asian life festival in nearby jubilee square show this station is as relevant today as any time in its long history.

Interesting fact BBC Radio Leicester was the first Local BBC Radio Station to air and was the template others across the country followed.

This building is the current home of BBC Radio Leicester which is 50 years old - it is the first BBC Local Radio Station in the UK and opened on November 8th 1967 in its then home of Epic House, Charles Street, Leicester which it left to move here in 2005 - and broadcasts to Leicestershire and Rutland. One of the studios can be seen in action through a window in the reception lobby area (there are exhibitions sometimes held in that lobby area). The reception staff were friendly and helpful when I called in.
There is a cafƩ/restaurant inside the building which is disabled accessible with a ramp and a ground level entrance.
