Bowburn Hall Hotel - Durham

The room was lovely, with a beautiful and well-appointed bathroom. It was a little warm, so we had to open the window. Although a wedding occurred in the hotel, we weren’t disturbed by the noise.||The bar offers a good selection of beers, and we had dinner there. The service was good, and the food was typical pub fare.||My only criticism is that the electric charging points were not working, and the reception staff didn’t know how to resolve the issue.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The parking was right outside, free and easy. The hotel has a lovely look, and the restaurant is lovely. Our room had twin beds, both comfy and good pillows. The bathroom is fab- big shower stall with rain shower and sprayer! Excellent! I woke up too late for the breakfast but the manager offered me coffee and a breakfast sandwich anyway. So appreciated! Highly recommend this place for its facilities and great service.

I came for the Abba night. The venue itself is very nicely decorated and gives a good impression. |The ticket cost was great value for the food and entertainment. |I have a dairy intolerance, which I let them know about when booking. The food served was fantastic, hot and delicious. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent. |The singer Ellie was amazing, she had a wonderful voice and sang for over an hour with great enthusiasm and everyone was up dancing. |The DJ also played some great tracks. Overall I had a wonderful night and would totally come again for a similar evening. Thanks so much Bowburn Hall.

We dropped in to this quant little hotel this evening for a meal. The ambiance in the restaurant is very relaxed All the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable and special. |We were served immediately upon arriving at the bar for drinks .|We ordered the mussels and garlic prawns to start both were absolute beautiful! |For mains we both ordered the 10oz T-bone steaks medium rare! They both came out perfect, portions size was very large. |We will definitely be returning and highly recommended to anyone looking to have a beautiful meal.

Stayed here twice while in Durham and enjoyed stay both times. Very friendly staff and great rooms. Food in the bar is really good and just a homely feel to whole place. Good location just outside of Durham but easy to get in and out of the city.

Will stay again when in the area.

Stayed at Bowburn Hall for 3 nights. The welcome we received was lovely. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and clean (the pillows were to die for never had such comfy ones in any other hotel. In fact Im ordering one now I'm home). Housekeeping looked after us so well with fresh towels every day replenished toiletries very pleasant lady. |The food was very good only criticism was our first breakfast was cold we told the staff and they immediately took it away and brought another which was hot, Would definitely stay there again.

We live nearby so hadn't stayed here since a wedding over thirty years ago. Lovely old building, great, hearty food and the room was really nice with a comfortable big bed. We loved it and will certainly return. Lovely garden and great service from pleasant staff too. Highly recommended!

Good hotel and Venue. Food is good, coffees are great, staff are professional and friendly. The only downside is it's location, it's grounds have been sold off and built on. Some areas could do with a bit of a refurbishment.
It's handy for Durham City or visiting County Durhams attractions, is close to Durham motorway services so is handy for breaking long motorway journeys.
It's also good for functions such as weddings, Xmas meals, etc.
