Brilliant butchers with a wide variety of local produce as well as a fair bit of interesting fresh produce- especially Japanese!
As well as high quality fresh meat, this shop also has a great deli counter with some very good meats and cheeses, as well as lovely fresh bread delivered from the bakery daily. My only possible criticism is that the vegetables didn’t look very fresh, however they were still abundant and seemed to be nice overall.

Disappointed with my first and now only visit recently. Man in charge was rude, with no interest in customer service. My 50 year’s retail experience always used to involve the importance of taking physical payment.10 -11am on the last Friday before Christmas is peak time for pensioners with money to get out for provisions/food shopping and home fast. Vital with so many viruses around just now to avoid illness especially at this time of year. There were 5 customers waiting to pay, with no-one else actually being served at a counter. ‘ Mr Head Honcho’ obviously thought it was fine to leave the youngster who was clearly struggling at the till without any support. Shame on you. It was the only thing to ruin what could have been a pleasing and profitable experience. There is no way you can measure what value one customer dumping their shopping and walking away might cost any business in the future.

Unfortunately, we had to move away from the best butchers in the UK in my humble opinion and we have used a lot of them throughout Scotland and England. I miss the huge selection of fresh meats which can be cut into practically anything you desire by the fabulous Rob! Nothing is too much trouble for that guy! I miss filling my bottle with fresh milk, the freshly baked quiches, scotch eggs, pies, pasties etc. They have an abundant choice of seasonable local vegetables, spices and herbs, local honey, fresh cheeses, handcrafted drinks and best of all - lardy cake! The owner Tom is super friendly and interested in opinions on how to improve the shop. He also holds a weekly bbq in summer selling his freshly cooked burgers outside the shop! Sublime! If you love top quality produce, locally sourced and with traceability, there really is nowhere else to go.

Called today wanted joint loin pork for sunday. Butcher offered me pork chop, said i wanted loin joint not chop he kept insisting this is what i would get. He said i was being rude, was trying to explain what wanted. Said i would have topside joint instead, showed me rolled joint. Asked for a pound from the middle as dont like ends. Refused to cut. Told him to forget it and walked out.
Will never go back, i suggest you should not go there he is very rude and does not know butchery
