Visited the Admiral (The Trust visitor Centre). The gentleman there was very friendly and was full of knowledge on the lock. There are lots of photos showing the history of the lock and bits and bobs to buy for gifts. It was good to see Rosie and Jim 😄 a good flash back.

A great place to set of on a adventure via boat, bike or just a walk, the volunteers are really friendly and take time for a quick question on which they've probably been asked a thousand times. One of the volunteers let me help them open a lock,I know it wasn't much but I loved it. Thanks

Went to Caen Hill Locks today. My second visit. This canal is quintessential England, and this flight of locks one of the best bits. Stunning piece of engineering for its era.

Car park quite sparse and quiet, such a lot could be made of area. But cross bridge and walk the side of canal towards locks, it gets so interesting. The Caen locks are lovely and watching the barges navigate them is so interesting. There is a fab little cafe too, so you can sit and watch the activities. Or take a picnic.

Fantastic area, something for all ages. A lot of effort goes into keeping the area clean and tidy by the Volunteers and permanent staff members. The 16 lock staircase is a sight to behold. Also take a walk in Diamond Jubilee Woods again maintained by the woodland volunteers which is now maturing nicely.
