Surely the best contender as the UK's largest military show these days?

Hundreds of military vehicles, living history and (uniquely I think) helicopter displays.

Two things stop me from giving 5 stars:

The venue is a farm which is down a country road making access difficult, especially for thousands of people all at once. This year, due to the rain, the fields were somewhat boggy and treacherous.

The traders space is relatively small for a show of this size. I realise that this isn't the biggest factor for most but I primarily visit military shows to hunt for interesting memorabilia so I'd like to see more space for this.

Love this show... What a fantastic experience and History lesson !! Let's keep it just as it is and not go H&S mad, which usually tends to creep in with these kinda events as time goes on....

Great family day out, lots going on, and lots of vehicles to see. Reasonable price. Recommend getting there early. Only downside, very little places to sit down if you don't take camping chairs with you or sit on the ground, which isn't great if you're breastfeeding in the rain. Can get very muddy if it's been raining, definitely don't take a pushchair if this is the case.

Very good. Enjoyable for all the family lots of good military vehicles, including helicopters. Lots of fun things to do. Very muddy and wet and very rough tank ride. Best part was either the buggy ride or amazing reinactment. Very well money and time spent.

Not their fault obviously but the weather was, and had been horrendously wet, which made getting around pretty tricky in extremely muddy conditions; normally speaking we would arrive at the show around opening time but because it was pouring with rain we didn't arrive until about 11.30, we possibly wouldn't have bothered but we'd already bought advance tickets.
We had to queue through 3 fields before getting to parking which took absolutely ages because we weren't the only ones arriving at that time it literally took an age.
Don't get me wrong it's a great show with lots to see and plenty of traders, which is where my real gripe comes in!
Food vendors charge way over the top, for example, a small, plain simple, single ice cream cone with a flake costs £4.50
The noodle bar is a disgrace (it was last year too) a portion of simple chicken noodles £8.50 sweet and sour chicken for example is the same, £8.50 and we're not talking big portions here either! That's £17 for 2 dishes at a country show!
I can go to a really good eat what you like restaurant (literally )including soup, starters, crispy duck, mains, rice and noodles for £22 how can Capel justify the prices that these vendors charge, we're just a couple, imagine how much the day could cost if you were a family with 2.5 kids!
