Loads to offer, but at great expense.

This place is stocked really well and has a lot to offer. However, I found it quite pricey for what it was.

We actually bought quite a bit, and some of it was quite disappointing, while some of it was good like the Devon Nut fudge.

What I really did not like was when I asked for a particular quantity of uncut fudge. I was rudely pointed to the precut 100g packets, which I did not want.

As a tourist, I'm not sure I would recommend buying anything here thought as you can get it elsewhere a lot cheaper, and it's nothing that special to Devon, unless you get the Devon Nut fudge.

I believe they have purely inflated the prices as they know its gonna feed from the tourists. I have mixed opinions on this place, I just know I would avoid if I go back to Lynmouth.

Not sure it’s a proper fudge shop. I suspect they don’t make the fudge here and buy in mass produced products as the quality is a bit dubious. Quite a good range though, although it probably comes on the back of a lorry

Visited out of season (May 2024). Huge shop. Traditional sweets in jars, toffees, fudge, nougat, honey and memorabilia. Sad to hear about other poor reviews. It's a beautiful historic town, which is a tourist hotspot and local traditional homemade sweets are always expensive. Bought an array of sugary treats. Returned with my Bestie another two times in the same week. Spent excessively because treats were naughty but very delicious. We did miles of walking, so hopefully, it burned off the calories! Wonderful, helpful, happy and chatty team at Caravel shop. A children's paradise for sweet stuff. Suit everyone's pocket. Thank you Caravel shop for a lovely experience. Lady working today was ever so helpful and friendly and reason why we spent so much money. Great selection of fudge, sweets and ice cream and many other snacks and drinks. Had the pistachio ice cream which was very tasty. Lots of good quality wooden toys from the orange tree toys company.

Most items we've bought over many years have been delicious, but our grandson bought us a bar of rum and raison fudge each. Got home and both bars have absolutely no rum flavour at all. Can't travel over 200 miles to complain.

Friendly staff. Great stock of fudge in loads of different flavours. Short bread, ciders, beers, gin, sweets and toys. What more could you want in a shop

Very rude and unhelpful staff. Took my autistic daughter inside having seen the sign that clearly says 100g of sweets for £1.40. We were told quite abruptly that you can’t have them you can only have the bigger bags that were already made up that cost more money and she would not take the jar of sweets sat on shelf behind her and weigh out 100g. Having now read other reviews it’s clear the staff do not like tourists. DON’T waste your money in this shop, spend it elsewhere where your business will be appreciated.

Extremely miserable staff,went in with my son to purchase some sweets for him, once at the counter he asked the lady very politely for some fudge from the window display to which he was met with “sorry,no more shopping for you” and had a random £2 bag of fudge placed in front of him…once paid for we were ushered out the store and the door closed behind us!!

We visit lynmouth regularly and won’t be spending our money here again!
