Better than the other labs in Shoreditch. This place is family run, takes care of film and is an all round nice experience that feels warm and welcoming. I have never had any issue with getting film developed here and have developed over 100 rolls. Peace of mind and friendly service.

I recently used Chan Photographic Imaging to develop and scan five rolls of film (4x 35mm and one roll of 120). The turnaround time was fairly quick (4 days), and they were polite in responding to my feedback, but overall, the service didn’t meet my expectations.
• File Sizes: Most of the scans from my 35mm rolls were under 2 MB, with only a handful between 2-3 MB. This is nowhere near the 6.51 MB per image advertised on their chart. The medium format scans were also much smaller than expected, with most under 1 MB instead of the advertised 4.10 MB for the 6x4.5 format. When I brought this up, I was told the sizes are “preview sizes” and that opening them in Lightroom or Photoshop would reveal the “true size.” That doesn’t make sense—file sizes don’t change when opened in software. I felt misled because I chose their service based on the advertised specs.
• Dust on Scans: Some scans had visible dust specs, which was disappointing and made it feel like they skipped proper quality control.
• Half-Frame Roll Scanning: One of my rolls was from a half-frame camera, but the scans combined two images into a single frame. I was later told this is due to their Fuji Frontier scanner’s limitations, which I can understand. Still, it would’ve been nice to know this upfront so I could have made other plans.

While they were polite and responded quickly, it felt like they were more focused on justifying the issues than actually addressing them. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend their services, especially with so many other London labs offering better quality and transparency.

Cool photo lab in East London. They did a great job with a couple of cheapy AGFA Vista rolls from Poundland. Had my films developed, scanned and emailed in two days. Quick and cheap compared to other labs in London. Definitely enjoyed the results, I'll bring there some proper films soon!
