Massive. Great to imagine this used as a theatre with shows etc. Grounds team were there with robot mower. Free to visit. Small car pRk at same place as scout hut. Or park in town and walk to it.

Quiet place good for walking. But the little path near the small car park is a bit dirty. Can see dog poo along the path.

A bit gutting really, there are no stones of any kind to tell you that this was the Great cirencester Amphitheater, Cearleon Amphitheater is only small but gives you so much to imagine, this is just mounds of earth, which is very difficult to make out as an Amphitheater.

I didn't know what to expect so I didn't have high hopes. The mixed reviews that I read online deflated me, but I decided to go and see with my own eyes.
I did enjoy every second. The place was green, clean, no trash, no dog fouling and no noise. We walked on top of it, all round, then we went back to the free car park.
I think the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For us 3, it was great and we even saw a little Bambi dear in the woods, so it was all worth it.

Small site with a few info plaques. You can walk around the large mound which is all that remains of the amphitheatre that once sat 8000 people.

Not much to see but if you take in the history and stand in the middle and imagine what took place there,it can bring a shiver down your back. And it's free and near some nice woodland.
