Just outside the train station is this beautiful Leeds City Square with statues. Very festive with lights, Christmas market and carol singing. Lots of food to try. Lots of public seating too.

First time to Leeds here to visit lots of pubs and enjoy seeing a new city. Here mainly for the T20 cricket at Headingley on Fri 5/06/24.
I think the city is awesome. We walked from the train station to very close to the Stadium where we had booked a hotel for the night.
Less said about the Hotel, the better.
It was a great couple of days, everywhere we went we relieved a warm welcome and everyone was so helpful.
Pubs, cafes, and stadium staff were all brilliant.
Any pubs you see in this review are really worth a visit so I won't name them Al as I have done individual reviews for them

Some weird wooden "structure" taking up half the square which didn't need any update anyway.
The statues are hidden by it. From a distance I thought (hoped) it was scaffolding but sadly not. Why can't LCC leave things alone and give us our city with no roadworks and unnecessary "improvement" workings making Leeds look like one large building site.

Great Italian piazza inspired City Square with lots of beautiful statues , plenty of free benches to sit and have your lunch or read a book , if you're not scared of huge bands of pigeons that's is. Restaurant bar and grill is a lovely place to sit in summer, pricey but that's what you get for the city centre. Perfect place to wait for your next train or to meet up with friend's.

A fantastic centre piece for the city. There are several stunning statues with interactive QR codes that let you discover parts of the city’s history. A great first site to visit once you leave the train station.

There was a lot of building work going on so I could get the full experience but it looked like a good public square with statues and a mixture of old and new buildings.
