Interesting old house. The staircase was phenomenal. The Chinese room was great, as was the museum and Florence Nightingale's bedroom was pleasant.

Fascinating home of Florence Nightingale, beautiful ornate carved architraves & cornices in every room. The Chinese Room gives the wow factor and shouldn't be missed!

House with long and interesting history and caricatures. Most of the original furniture has long gone but the remaining decor is superb, particularly the central staircase. This is one house that's worth having a guided tour. Our guide, Brian, was very knowledgeable and added greatly to our visit.

I came with no knowledge or expectations about this place. And I was positively surprised since the first room

Place is beautifull and interesting. But for me the best part were the guides- everyone of them was so nice, they put so much effort into their work.
They also treated my little niece like a princess and this was so warm and fun. Thank you guides, you are amaizng 🙂

NT house experience good, but upstairs rooms only available if enough volunteer guides available. Good history of Florence Nightingale connections. Privately run tearoom nice, service good and pre booked afternoon tea as good as any we've had in past elsewhere.

No notice on the website about opening but as we found out Friday/Saturday. Little forecourt with a cafe and antique shop. Nothing else to do when the Manor house is closed as the garden and church as closed aswell. Not much parking mainly on the grass under trees. Would be worth a visit on the right day.

Beautiful place with the most amazing wooden carving throughout the building. Amazing skill with each room showing something different. Florence Nightingale was a regular visitor to see her sister who lived there and you can see Florence’s bedroom. Little museum of the weird and wonderful is worth studying as there really are some amazing things in the collection. All the staff in the house were super knowledgeable and more than happy to chat which of course brought the place to life. Fab tea rooms as well and highly recommend the cream tea - it was delicious! Well worth a visit.

Very quaint little estate, with a lovely courtyard and big house that you can go around - either paid or as National Trust members.
There aren't many shops in the courtyard, but they are quality and look interesting for a short browse. There are also toilets and conveniences as well. The house is pretty large, and some of it is open to the public. The gardens are also very nice for a wander.
