Crouch Ridge Vineyard - Chelmsford

This is a lovely venue overlooking the River Crouch from the outside seating area.
We visited for lunch on a hot, sunny weekday and were hoping to eat outside.
A table was reserved for us but, unfortunately, despite there being lots of umbrellas and shade sails, not all tables have shade, so we chose to sit inside.
There is a daily specials board listing main meals, and a printed menu with small plates and sharing platters.
The food was good, as was the service.
I didn't get to sample the wine because it was expensive.
£12 for a small flute of their sparkling wine and around £10 for 125ml of red or white wine.
However, it is a pleasant place to visit and I would eat here again.

My wife and I had a very peaceful and enjoyable Saturday brunch at Crouch Ridge vineyard. It was a beautiful day and we were lucky to be able to sit outside in the sunshine to enjoy the amazing views. Out dog was also welcome to join us which was nice and rare in many places.

The staff were attentive without being overbearing and gave us time to enjoy the setting and to choose our food without rushing us. It was early in the day so they were setting up the terrace for lunchtime but were respectful of us and kept themselves out of the way and didn't impact on our enjoyment.

Our food came quite quickly, but not so quickly as to think it had already been made and just heated up, it was clearly made to order and the quality of the ingredients were top notch, the sausage swirl on my breakfast was incredible! After eating we were left to enjoy the setting and to chat without feeling like we needed to leave which was great.

On the way out we had a little stroll around the vineyards and even bought a couple of bottles of their wine which I am looking forward to tasting soon. Highly recommend this place and I look forward to going back to try their Sunday lunch!

The food is OUTSTANDING!! MDC planners take note and give them full planning permission for hot food- especially as you are OK with 550 new houses in a village with virtually zero facilities.

Whilst the vineyard tour and experience was enjoyable, the service regarding food was disappointing.
We waited an hour and a half for a 10" pizza and chips. This wouldn't ordinarily be an issue given the serene surrounding, however, at nearly £25, this was a dampener on what was otherwise a great day out.

Whether it’s for a casual drink or to eat, always very welcoming and great service. Indoors is really nice, and weather permitting, outside on the patio looking out over the vines and down to the river you could be anywhere in the world. Highly recommended 👍 Great selection of gifts in the Shop as well as wines and craft gins to buy to take away.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Crouch Ridge Vineyard this afternoon, with friendly staff, excellent views across the River Crouch and decent grub. We shared a bottle of the Crouch Ridge Brut for £42 which was very easy to drink, and I opted for the ‘Crouch Board’ for £18 consisting of salmon, crayfish, prawns & anchovies served with bread and Marie Rose sauce - ample for one person and could have probably been shared between two less hungry people. Menu wasn’t substantial but more than enough choice, plus a daily special menu. We ate inside, but they have outdoor tables which would be great when the weather is a bit warmer. I’ll be going back in the summer!
