From the initial call regarding an existing 17yr old Maxprop, Darglow have been nothing but a pleasure to do business with.
I dropped off the prop for inspection and service and within a week was pleasantly surprised. I would have been none the wiser if they said I needed a new prop. They gave it a clean bill of health. And a clean.
Competitively priced service and parts for anodes and rope cutter.
Even when it came to putting the Maxprop back on the shaft, as daunting as it was for a newbie with X and Y settings etc. on the phone they kindly confirmed correct assembly.
It was a relief on relaunching the yacht, that it went in the intended direction 😇.

Hi,
I had the unlucky coincidence of changing from a fixed prop to a featherstream on a Starlight 35 just as the gearbox was starting to go wrong.
The symptoms were an inability to get into forward thrust in a timely manner after reverse in any marina/ harbour manoeuvre. Interesting & expensive as sailed around the UK in this condition.
The support at Darglow was excellent over many conversations; and after changing the gearbox, I can say the propellor is functioning perfectly with improved drive and sailing attributes.

I called Chris out of the blue and he couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did he take ownership of the issue with my propeller, (which he had absolutely no responsibility for), he told me exactly how to fix it, what the problem was, and sent me a link to a PDF to back up all the information he had given me. I literally cannot recommend Darglow Engineering enough. He also insisted that I call them tomorrow to make sure my broken boat was fixed properly.
