A real little gem, not what you'd expect from a Town Hall. Private bar, great room for the ceremony as well as the sit down food option. If you are wanting an intimate venue looks no further

Recently had our civil marriage here. Sadly a reflection of the failing council that is Kirklees. Warning to all getting married, the 'professionals' working there don't know how to spell & don't have a grasp of the basic English language ( and yes, they are all white!) Please don't expect much - I would strongly suggest an alternative registry venue...or make them complete a competence & spelling test first. It's quite embarrassing really.

Dewsbury Town Hall is probably the one town hall Kirklees seem to have looked after. Keep supporting the arts please.

We had our wedding at Dewsbury Town Hall and it couldn’t have gone more perfect. The staff were so accommodating, helpful, kind, patient and professional. The Town Hall is such a beautiful building - it took our breath away when we walked out as husband and wife.
If you want a simple, carefree yet elegant wedding ceremony, I’d highly recommend Dewsbury Town Hall.
Thank you to all of you for making our day special.

Beautiful landmark building in the heart of Dewsbury. Disabled access available. There is a car park approx 50 yds away. It’s pay and display. There’s a lift for those that require easier access to the upper floor. The ladies loos are on the first floor. The place was very clean. Great sized stage.

Just an amazing building. The really sad thing is across the road "Empire House" was a theatre which was demolished without a thought... Heritage lost forever!

Before the Christmas holidays a refurbishment was undertaken with new carpeting, ornate ceiling plaster repairs, cracks etc. The new paint colour scheme works really well, must be seen. Great to see this historic building preservation is ongoing and in keeping with the design. Well done to everyone concerned. Continues to delight. It's a real shame the Empire Theatre didn't survive the sixties...
