There isn’t enough words to describe the situation. Found a VW transporter on eBay for sell from this garage, went to see the van and I was told that I couldn’t bring the van because need it MOT and the tension on cam belt need to be adjusted.
I paid £1000 to reserve the van and for them to do the mot, without payment it wouldn’t do anything. Organised the van to get collected the following week.
I brought a friend with me, and when I got the keys off the seller(Paul), I notice tape in one off the keys. When I took the tape, the key fall and he said that was ok to use it, until I mention that I was going to try the key. With the other key we started the van and my friend notice a leak somewhere, after looking we found a leak on the EGR valve. For the seller wasn’t nothing much, all normal.
After looking at the reviews I notice the big mistake I made, they can’t even fix cars according to other customers.
Took them 4 days to refund the payment I made for the van, the £1000 for the deposit wasn’t refundable.

Don't ever use.

Owned by a friend of my girlfriend, so had my car serviced here but had never used before. Although delivery was delayed, it was fairly painless and it appeared they had gotten the job done...

So.

I get stopped by the police for no tail light a week later and it turned out that Dormans had force fitted a single filament bulb in a dual socket so it didn't work (the replacement was on my invoice hence I know it was them). I was annoyed but figured it was one of those things. Didn't even ring to complain and I left it to save my blood pressure.

Fast forward 4 weeks and the car starts to drift on corners. It just doesn't feel right. I'm also getting a slow puncture which may be the cause so I took it to a tyre shop and they changed 2 tyres and rotated the wheels. I then got a call from the tyre shop (who were brilliant by the way - SET Tyres in Tunbridge Wells) to say that the CV boots needed replacing which I protested as Dormans had also told me they had changed them (That was the reason for the initial delay). I went down and looked under the car with Phil from SET and sure as rain on a bank holiday none of the boots had been changed.

I was furious.

I went to Dormans and was fobbed off 3 times to come back - not enough space on the ramp, the boss isn't in, the guy who did the work was on holiday, blah blah blah. Promises of call backs were ignored but I stayed calm. I was patient and kept going back face to face until they checked it. Which they did to find out they hadn't done the work.

You know what in retrospect - They didn't even seem surprised. It was all too business as usual to be having this kind of conversation. I would be mortified if a client told me one of my guys hadn't done a piece of work, they didn't seem phased at all.

So I catch the boss Andrew on my fourth visit, I keep my calm and ask for all my money back as I don't trust they'd done a thing to my car. We ended up settling on a refund for the boots plus labour as he was adamant they'd done the service, but what a load of BS. I can't believe that people operate like this. Mistakes happen but this was painful, disappointing and just shameful. It's a local village car garage, I don't know how they're still in business.

Don't use. Don't trust them. Simply don't go there.

RIP off ,avoid ,will tell you its needing a load of work ,untrustworthy and swears like a trooper , told me he had done this and that ,but when I took it to my local garage ,was told the part he had changed was never taken off the van ,plus lots of other problems ,like hardly any brakes ,van was lumpy ,found they'd broken a pipe on fuel pump! If you love your bongo , take it somewhere else. I would have given no stars if possible, BANDITS.

My whole family has used Dormans garage for our car repairs and servicing for years. They have been efficient, helpful and shown us great service continually. Would recommend.

I popped in to use a sparkplug remover!!! Well these guys are fabulous!! Asked me to pop my bonnet and litterally did the work for free.... This does not happen in real life.. Made my year.. Rewarded with chocolates... Thanks boys💙😘
