The castle was a lot bigger than we expected. We spent about 2 hours there but were not able to see everything so we will visit again. Great views of the harbor from the top of the hill as well. Very informative tunnel walk. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

My 3rd castle so far and it didn’t disappoint. Felt so close to original all the way through. So many things to see. Staff were incredible at every corner. So clean everywhere you went. So many dogs as well which was so nice. Stunning views from top. A must see.

Nice castle. We spent there 3 hours. But have not seen everything. General ticket included 2 tunnels tours. However , you can buy additional ticket for longer and deeper tour.

Beautiful castle perched on the cliffs of Dover. Stunning views from the top and so much to explore and look at. We spent a good couple of hours here with children and they were mesmerised throughout. Refreshments available within thr grounds.

Can I give it 6 stars?! This is by far the largest site I've been to of all the castles I've ever visited with so much to see. With stunning views & the vast history, you can literally spend all day here to go round everything. It's not particularly disabled friendly as there is loads of walking & I recommend you follow the map they give you to avoid going back on yourself. Being such a famous place, it does get busy but the staff were very professional & got everyone moving quickly. There's ample parking too. I definitely recommend the tour of the Secret (not anymore!) Wartime Tunnels. It's very educational & I found it fascinating with the links with other castles along the coast such as Deal & Walmer (which we also visited). Highly recommended & I'd go again!

Dover Castle is a fantastic family day out with plenty to explore. The history is incredible, from the medieval Great Tower to the WWII tunnels, and the views from the top are absolutely stunning—on a clear day, you can see across the Channel. There’s lots of space for kids to run around, and the interactive exhibits make it fun for all ages.

That said, it can get very busy, especially on weekends and school holidays, which means queues to get around a few of the sites. If possible, visit on a quieter day to make the most of it.

Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend it!

Absolutely Brilliant Experience at Dover Castle!🙌✨️

If I could give Dover Castle 10 stars🌟, I would! It was an absolutely fantastic day out for our family. The Halloween decorations and themed events had our kids thoroughly entertained from the start. The coffee shop was a perfect spot for warming up with hot drinks, and the tunnels were an adventure of their own.

The museum and communication room were fascinating, offering insight into history that both adults and kids enjoyed. Parking was plentiful, and the staff were friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. The kids’ park was a fantastic addition, keeping the little ones happy, and there were lovely walks with breathtaking views of the Dover ferry port and green surroundings.

Clean, accessible toilets and plenty of them, a well-stocked gift shop with wonderful souvenirs, and the option to get a membership—which is a steal at around £120/year for two adults and up to six kids—make Dover Castle excellent value for money. Highly recommend this gem for a family day out! 💜

Absolutely stunning. My only regret is that I did not have more time to explore! We bought the overseas pass from English Heritage as we were visiting from the US. My wife is a student of Dover Castle history and I of English WW1/2 history. There is so much to offer from the Romans to modern day. If you are not a history buff, the views and walk alone are stunning.
