Smaller port as it compares to some of the other ports I've embarked/debarked at. The staff were friendly but it seemed like the terminal was too small to accommodate our cruise line needs. I know this seems rather petty... but they need more trash bins outside of the terminal. The only 2 trash cans were so completely over full. Overall, it was clean and the staff were charming. Lovely views of the White Cliff of Dover! The baggage claim was highly organized and simple to navigate.

Navigating through the Dover Traffic Centre was a delightful experience! The folks on the other end of the radio were incredibly friendly and helpful, granting us smooth entry. Their professional and courteous demeanor made the whole process a breeze.

However, I must mention that the radio channel had a bit of distortion. It felt like we were communicating through a 1970s sci-fi movie prop! Perhaps it’s time for a little investment in new equipment? Nonetheless, it added a quirky charm to the interaction. Five stars for service with a smile (and a little static)!

They is too much traffic. We have been waiting 3 hours and we haven't check it yet. Really slow

If you choose midday crossing times during the summer arrive early and be prepared to queue to get through the border checks. We travelled on the 10am crossing with P&O outside the school holidays so queues were reasonable. Getting through the ferry company check in is fairly straightforward, just drive slowly to your waiting lane and be patient. The restaurant/shop building is better than it used to be but its hardly a cutting edge customer experience. The Port of Dover is better than it used to be but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

We would have boarded at 12:30. Our ferry would have departed at 13:30. We took of early to arrive in time. But 3 miles before the port there was a traffic jam. It took us almost 5 hours to drive those last 3 miles. It was very chaotic on side no explanation on what was going on. So our experience was not to good

Usually it’s quick, much more better than other boarders.
I had a minor negative experience with a French police officer, she was not professional at all, but most of the times officers are friendly there.

Setting off on a bank holiday means you will be In queues, there is no getting away from it.

Port control though was quick and efficient when check passport and get the priority tickets. I’ve never had any issues with the service
