We visited Downham Market Town Hall last weekend as a group on a paranormal investigation. The building is beautiful and is easy to find with its period architecture. Parking on the square was easy and we had a thoroughly enjoyable night. The evening we were, the caretaker Chris was on duty. He looked after us really well and was such a lovely man. Very helpful and knowledgeable. He joined us on part of the investigation. Chris went above and beyond his caretaking duties and it was a real pleasure to meet him and investigate his beautiful building. I really can't wait to go back

I booked the Town hall for my wedding , I was so upset I can’t begin to tell you . I am an elderly lady and want to get wed after 27 years together. Well it looked like a chapel of rest , rather than a wedding venue . Dark maroon curtains of which two were drawn. I thought the coffin was behind them . 2 pathetic bowls of artificial flowers on an old table and several chairs . It was cold and uninviting, nothing pretty or welcoming. It needs a good shake up and a woman’s touch to bring it up a good standard. £400 for 20mins in a disgusting uninviting room . No where for photos ….in and out as quick as you like . I must say the officials that did the actual wedding were very nice so Thankyou to them . I do not recommend this as a place to marry . Absolutely heart broken , guests were of the same mind but didn’t say anything about it till I brought it up . Avoid at all costs .

Never been in this place ,but if u like the old part of kings Lynn , you,ll love downham market , classed as a town , but I would call it a large village, high street has decent selection,all within a short walk ,ample parking about , if Lynn is not your bag ,visit here , very relaxed place
