May I start by stating "let's get this into perspective"!

No-one really thinks a lot about their septic tank or sewage until it goes wrong. In my case, our Mantair unit was installed around 12 years ago and whilst I am not particularly picky by nature, the original installers were reliable, but after a while I started to suspect that they were really not charging fairly for their work. After a really bad experience where they tried to charge me three times for the price of a pump (based upon attaching a jubilee clip), I decided to change to a different company: this time a national one. High price, the technicians had no idea of what they were dealing with and subsequently when speaking to one of the guys emptying my septic tank, he uttered the immortal words "you need Rob".

Rob visited our property and spent well over his allotted time to service and upgrade our Mantair Unit. We discussed how the previous two companies had serviced the unit and it rapidly became obvious that they had done little more than wash the unit down and flush out the pipe under normal pressure. Initially Rob thought that we might need a couple of replacement parts, but he would see what he could do. In a relatively short time, the unit was disassembled and whilst my unit was not the updated version which allows water to be more easily flushed through, he had modified it slightly and the next thing, he flushed out copious amounts of years of accumulated sludge and our unit is as good as new. Nearer the time of our next service, I suggested that perhaps we might replace a couple of parts, although not needed, anyone who has ever had a septic tank and treatment unit know that prevention is better than cure and so it might be appropriate to change a couple of parts as the modified model is better.

Onto price. All I can say is that Rob charged me the standard price of a service, nothing for the modification, nothing for his additional time. In terms of how his price compares to our installer, about the same BUT and it is a huge BUT, he was on site for at least 10 times the time of our installer and no question, he was very thorough in his approach and attention to detail. In terms of comparison to the National Company, this man really is an expert, whereas the national company just send someone with some knowledge and often had to have the system explained to them.

This is a long review and therefore I won't bang on any further. All I can do is recommend this extremely competent and capable man who understands Mantair units inside out. Nothing is too much trouble and more importantly he likes things to be right and doesn't leave site until it is. My septic tank and sewage unit are working perfectly and more importantly, I know that if we have a problem he would be here to fix it promptly and at a fair price.
