I bought an engine off Adam in Engine components.. he promised me every engine was tried and tested.. complete bull!!! I received my engine my mechanic fitted it and it was far from a sound engine. At this stage I paid to fit my new engine and now I had to pay to get it taken out and post it back to them... They have a clue of what they are sending out.

I purchased a Ford engine from Engine Components Ltd in February through my local garage who were going to fit the engine. The engine that was supplied had part of the engine number removed by an angle grinder. I contacted Engine Components to get more details about the donor vehicle, but I was fobbed off and they never got back to me as promised. They never returned my calls. Suspect engine from an untrustworthy supplier.

Edit 21/Jun/24 (additional information): The engine was purchased by my garage (Tarrants Garage) on 20/Feb/2024. Invoice =5131, ref = 48084790. Email sent as requested.

Edit 20/Aug/24: after my initial review Engine Components Ltd asked me to get in touch. I've now sent 5-6 emails and had one reply, but they've still not provided me with the registration of the donor vehicle (when my garage purchased the engine they quoted the mileage - so they must have the registration details). Refusing to answer this one simple question and not replying to my messages should tell you all you need to know about this company.

Please do not buy anything from this company, THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I been enquiring engine through first choice, I received a phone call 21/05/24 from this company which then agreed on £2440 for the engine. They then took the money from me and tell me that I should receive the engine in 3 to 4 working days. After a week, I called them, asking where is the engine I have purchased, only to be told now that I must sign the terms and conditions. After a week I received the company terms and conditions. Looking through the T&C's, I didn't accept them since they were asking for an exchange unit. After that I asked for a full refund. Now coming to the present, I am still fighting for my rightful refund that I still have not received, on 10/07/24 , finally I received £1800 , I still going fight the rest which is £640, now choice is yours , losing my money plus 2 months of stress and pain

Very bad experience, almost SCAM. They sent me a dirty engine for my Vauxhall Astra with broken camshafts and heavy carbon on the engine. They lied and said the engine is about 65,000 miles, although it looks above 100,000 miles. My car did not go back to normal and always stops with engine indicator amber. They refused to give me a full refund for this nasty engine and I had to sell my car at a cheaper price than the market.

Adam found me an engine for a 2006 Vauxhall Vivaro 1.9. 79000 usage for £800 delivered. I had problems finding a garage to fit it which took a bit of time. But Adam understood set it aside for me and dispatched when I was ready. Engine runs like new and starts first time every time great service really happy I would recommend this company on this experience alone. Thanks for keeping me mobile.

Absolute scam artists!

Ordered an engine, they one they sent was shocking!! Totally sized & won't even start.

Been waiting on a refund for 4 weeks no & they continually fob you off.

AVOID!!

Update.. had to wait 3 months for a refund & only because I threatened legal action & called every single day. Cowboys!

I purchased a refurbished engine for my car in 2020, to date it is still in working order and I have had no issues with it, it arrived in good condition. I was hesitant to use this business as there is little information about them and I also didn’t receive a full breakdown of the engine specs but apart from this good experience. Always answered calls and questions promptly
