Booked the studio plus an engineer for two hours, the experience was amazing, the whole set up is completely real and unique. The blend of classic gear and latest technology works hand in hand to support and inspire the creative talent. Our allocated engineer was wonderful to work with, he pitched his vast technical and creative knowledge at the correct level and was a true inspiration. Linda could not do enough, moving heaven and earth to provide the best possible overall service. The welcome was friendly and relaxing. A must do for all bedroom producers, get a taste of the big time!

I have just spent two days recording at EVE Studios with a number of friends. I’m the guitarist! This was my first experience of recording in a professional studio. It was an extremely enjoyable and rewarding one, with more than a little help from EVE! I was impressed by the professionalism of all the EVE personnel concerned, but beyond this the attention to detail, the advice, the knowledge, the desire to satisfy and the technical know-how was outstanding. We were treated like friends rather than clients and we were encouraged to do the very best we could and the results are impressive. This studio boasts a host of vintage instruments, amplifiers and recording gear together with some more modern equipment if required. Our requirements were pretty basic, but for those who want something a little different or more involved, this studio can offer it. The recording rooms are comfortable and roomy and I love the vintage microphones, which give warmth and depth. The control room is impressive and I immediately felt at home with the whole process. Martin explained the procedure and method and set up the recording environment to suit our needs. His knowledge is wide ranging and deep. Joel was our recording engineer. He is intuitive, friendly and works at the speed of light! Linda made us feel welcome, was on hand to answer our many questions and is simply delightful. Whether you are an amateur or seasoned professional this studio cannot fail to satisfy. The unhurried and creative atmosphere brought out the best in us and the technical knowledge and ability of the staff ensured this was recorded flawlessly.

Joel was fantastic - laid back and easy to work with, as well as helping us make the song sound how we wanted by making some really good suggestions.

Eve was great too - Henry, Linda and Miar were all really friendly and welcoming, and did everything they could to help us create the song we wanted and to make our time there an absolute pleasure.

I couldn’t have hoped for more from Eve. The people, the equipment and the atmosphere of the place made for the ideal place to make and record music, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Spent a couple of days at Eve - superb vibe - some nice gear - great rooms all with their own unique character & flavour ... The team are awesome - a big shout out to Henry, Martin & Linda for making us so welcome and contributing seamlessly to such an enjoyable session - Thank you all. This is hands-down the best studio I've ever been to. We booked it for a two day recording of a production music album (as two composers), recording drums, bass, guitar and four brass players live, with Hammond organ and piano overdubs. I wanted to go for an authentically vintage sound, and to avoid fake 'plugin vintage' which often sounds harsh and muddy, and Eve absolutely nailed it. We were able to record drums, bass and guitar in their large live room (we could have had separation but I wanted a bit of bleed), and the studio could easily accommodate all the brass players in separate rooms to give better control in the mix. Each player had their own headphone mixer which made setting up monitoring quick and easy. When I say 'vintage', I don't mean old and scratchy, I mean 'warm', 'silky', 'punchy', 'natural' sounding, and all the other epithets people use to describe great sounding audio. Although this project aimed at old-school, I'd be confident in recording any kind of music there, and think they'd be brilliant for metal and QOTSA style rock too. If you're an indie artist they have all the equipment and expertise you'd need to create something unique and atmospheric in a cosy and relaxed setting.

They have a wealth of extremely high quality vintage equipment, including some amazing mics I've never even heard of (and many high end ones I have), and unlike in some studios, it is all well maintained and in perfect working order. Their choice of live spaces is incredible, with rooms of any flavour you'd want, including a tiled basement room and very controlled dry room. The only challenge I found recording there was to yank myself away from their huge collection of vintage synths, keyboards and organs, all of which are in perfect working order - I felt inspired just looking at them. Their analogue desk and esoteric collection of preamps are integrated perfectly into the latest Protools HD system, and though I don't use Protools, Henry went out of his way to make sure the project would open on my DAW for mixing. Sadly our budget couldn't extend to mixing the album at EVE, though I would have happily done it there. That said, Henry applied well judged EQ and processing to some of the tracks, and even took aux feeds from their awesome EMT plate and spring reverbs, which has made mixing the project really easy.

The best thing of all were the team at Eve, who were all incredibly helpful and friendly. Henry the engineer was laid back and unflappable, but also very quick and efficient and knew exactly how to get what we needed. Maya the assistant engineer was completely on the ball and relentlessly cheerful throughout two long days (she obviously loves her job), and is a walking encyclopedia of interesting microphones. Linda the manager was lovely; genuinely welcoming and hospitable, and Martin the studio owner (who popped in briefly) is a fascinating guy you could chat with for hours - obviously dedicated to the point of obsession with harnessing the best recording techniques and equipment from the last century. Special shout out to Adam whose input and dedication was invaluable.

The studio is far more spacious than you might imagine. They have a fully equipped kitchen which is a nice place to relax and chat, and bedrooms upstairs for residential recordings which look comfortable and well kept. If you're a band or artist based anywhere in the UK (especially London), looking for somewhere to record, you'd be crazy not to consider a stay in Manchester for the value and quality this studio offers. This was my first experience with Eve but I'll be looking for excuses to come back in the future.

Had an amazing time with my band over a weekend at Eve. Engineers were quick, gear was amazing but the vibe, location and atmosphere of the place set it apart from any other studio we've been around. Can't recommend enough!

I went to use Eve on the recommendation of Jane Weaver. Modern Kosmology was recorded there. It's everything I was looking somewhere with a creative atmosphere, a collection of vintage synthesisers, ace live rooms and great engineers. It has all this and I had three fabulous sessions there! Great engineering and support from Henry and Joel and of course the super cat Adam! looking forward to returning in 2019
