I had designed a tool, which would be used to drive bolts that had a unique head design, for a university project I was undertaking for my engineering degree. I was looking for a 3D printing company that would be able to assist me with the manufacturing side of the project, Flex3D based in Worcestershire were recommended to me as somewhere to contact to see if they would be able to help.

I reached out to them and spoke to James, their founder and engineering lead. James couldn't have been more helpful, he took the time to discuss my project and the different additive manufacturing options that Flex3D provide, I sent my CAD model to him and he recommended their SLS process as the most suitable method of creating the tool, he explained in detail the different material and print options that he was able to provide.

James was able to get the tool printed and sent directly to my home within a matter of days, the quality of the printed parts was exceptional and the service that Flex offered couldn’t have been any better.

I highly recommend Flex3D to anyone who is after 3D printing services, whether it is for personal or industrial use. I will be sure to contact them again in the future for any other printed items that I will need.

Brilliant service by James. He managed to scan and print an access panel for a shower cubicle in our holiday home. The company who produced the cubicle have closed down due to large fire!! All stock melted….Without getting it printed we’d have had to buy a whole new cubicle!!!

With it being the first time I had anything to do with 3D printing I was interested in the technology and the materials available, James was happy to discuss and explain all aspects and offer advice re. types of materials to use that would be suitable for my project.

He gave me regular updates throughout the process and delivered the prints ahead of his original schedule. The quality of the finished product is outstanding and will require little finishing, something very important to me.

I have already gone back to James with more detailed products I need producing and I have every confidence they will come out as high a quality as these first ones.

We had a specific ask for items which reflect our collection but is tactile for visitor with visual impairments to be able to use, it wasn't an easy task as due to the nature of the items meant that a lot of the work had to be done from photographs and architectural plans. Protogen 3D rose to the challenge and have provided us with finished projects exceeding our expectation and which our visitors/volunteers/staff have loved. During the design process James kept in touch, constantly showing me designs and asking for feedback. Communication was clear and I was very impressed with the whole process. Would recommend and shall be using again in the future. Well deserving of the 5 stars.
