A bit of a combination review, of the battery and inverter system from GivEnergy and the installer in Gloucestershire, Redbridge & Sons. We've not had any communication directly with GivEnergy, we've not needed to, and hopefully that will continue. But the team who installed our system from Redbridge & Sons, liaising with GivEnergy, had the system online and our app set up within 30 to 45 minutes, after a few firmware updates which all seem to have gone smoothly. The app is very easy to use. There are plenty of YouTube apps to watch, if you need them, to help with the app.
Our account has been set-up and is now working in conjunction with our Octopus Energy ? smart tariff.
We've gone green ? thanks to the install of our solar panels and Givenergy UK inverter and battery system, installed by Redbridge & Sons in Gloucester. So easy from start to finish, from quotation through to installation. We're very happy ?.
The team who completed the install, the solar panels and the battery, inverter and wiring were all very pleasant and arrived on time, around 8am. They were all friendly, very polite and tidied up after themselves. Very good job.
Setting up the system, registering the account and subsequently using the GivEnergy has proved to be very straight forward. We're now in the process of setting up the SEG with Octopus Energy ? so that we can export back to the grid which will hopefully mean that we can not only save a few pounds but also generate a small income to help cover our outlay with time. So bring on the hot, bright and sunny days.
A great service from start to finish, including a personal service from Lee, the boss. Communication has been excellent. We were recommended to Redbridge by two friends, both currently running GivEnergy batteries, inverter and solar panels.
Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 50 million views and still going strong ?.
Check out my other reviews ? ? ? ? ?.

Any phone contact with this contact will tell you they are extremely busy, rather than they dont have enough staff to remedy faults.
Fitted in February 2024, replaced the battery within weeks of installation as it just didn't work. This setup goes offline without warning or reason. It suddenly changes all of your settings without warning. The concept is great, but the execution from GivEnergy has been poor. Staff are distant, dont get that you pay a lot of money for this and see anything you report to them as trivial, dismissing any concerns you have.

I would never recommend this manufacture to any of my clients. All installations that we have carried out has been nothing but problems. They technical support line are people just reading from a screen and have no real technical support for the installers. They claim they will get back to you without a day or send an email to you, and we are forever chasing them up with there software issues. So many better manufacturers out there, that do care and do get back to you. Not that we have as many issues with these manufacturers as much as giv energy systems. It took four separate phone calls to the "technical support line" to tell us if an all in one system needed an inverter.
I also think its appalling that you have to travel all the way to their centre to do a "training day", when realistically its just a sales pitch on why their system is so good. After doing the training day it still took over two weeks to set up an installer account from them. Being at the call centre seem to be all young people walking around in tracksuits. Not a good look for the company when you are bringing installers that are going to be installing your products.
They claim to be made in UK, but clearly all of the internals are made from another country. They also claim to give you a 12 year warranty but its hard enough getting a new system sorted out, let alone a warranty claim further down the line.
As a company we would say to avoid.

Would not recommend. We had panels, inverter, battery, and EV charger installed a few months ago, and chose all GivEnergy products as thought they would work together best... While they were great for a while and we loved watching how much energy we were making on the app, we now have many issues a week. The worst part seems to be charging my EV, which we should be able to do mostly from just the solar excess on sunny days once the house's battery is full. However these days it consistently empties the battery and charges from the mains, even when the settings are set (and triple checked) to not do either of these things. I contacted GivEnergy for support and they checked my settings remotely (which was a bit patronising for a start as I'd explained that I knew they were set right), then confirmed they were set right and there was no more they could do... If you're going to sell faulty products, at least try and fix them!

UPDATE: sent an email to their complaints address as suggested below but no response to that either!
ORIGINAL: Paid extra to have a UK company solar products installed in our home, thinking the service and products would be better. Regret the decision already.
The battery/inverter when installed had a fault so has never worked. The GivEnergy customer service said we need someone from their field service team to come and fix the issue. They refuse to give us a date of when this appointment will be, just stating that the team are fully booked. We are still waiting for the system to be fixed...

Super happy with my G2 hybrid and 9.5 battery. Customer support is amazing (only an absover via a FB group). And the added benefit of being one the most tech friendly systems out there is also great! (Givtcp)

I’ve installed several Givenergy systems. The commissioning process is always long but I can understand them wanting to make sure the system is installed correctly and working as it should. What I’m unhappy with is the fact that I installed a system yesterday, everything worked fine, it passed the commissioning process until it updated the software, at which point it couldn’t see the load etc. Spent 4 hours talking to customer support and they weren’t able to fix the problem.
Givenergy boasts a new RMA process where by they state that they will send a new inverter if it’s the suspected problem (which they do) but the engineer told me I have to wait and arrange a site visit by their technician and I’ll have to pay for this. And who knows how long this will take.
Meanwhile as the installation is incomplete i can’t take payment from the customer.
Don’t use Givenergy, avoid at all costs. The aftercare and support is horrendous and as a small local company we can’t afford to take the hit because of their software/hardware issues.

Terrible company to deal with. I install batteries and panels with all sorts of brands of inverter. I can honestly say these are the worst. Where to start...
They are not allowed on the phone to you for long (absolute joke) and have to end the call, they want you to go onto their live chat which takes ages 5-10mins per message.
The commissioning of the inverters always requires a phone call to their helpline because its so complicated and you cant progress without ticking every single box. (No other brands makes you do this)
Their hybrid inverters do not pick up on existing solar panels in a house so you need a seperate ac couple inverter
You cant use a hybrid inverter and batteries without panels. All other makes allow you to do this.
Their New AOL(All In One)system is not an all in one system as it does not let you put solar panels onto it you would need a seperate string invert for the panels how the hell is that all in one? It only allows you to put an ac supply from a seperate panel system into it.
Their batteries look resonably nice but the cabling between them and the inverters looks a mess most other brands have fixed this by putting a cover around all the entry points like the libby by myenergy and the solax 3kw stack. Even pylontech batteries wire up better than these.
Installing them they give you these massive wall bolts that dont work you litterally have to throw them in the bin and buy decent ones from screwfix its a joke between us on site.
I find their app clunky and slow it isnt in realtime its giving you a snapshot every 5 minutes which is rarely accurate of what you are doing. It could look like you are boiling the kettle for 5 minutes.
Now if god forbid anything goes wrong here is where the fun happens they want you to return to site 5 times to take diffrent pictures of diffrent bits so the can try and find one single screw out of place this give them the get out of jail free card they are looking for and then refuse to come out and say the warranty is void. If however they dont find that wonky looking screw they will come out but at your cost. You have to pay upfront for them to attend this is a joke. Most companies can see the fault on their computer and will either send an engineer or send you a new bit of equipment.
My advise their are so many other companies out their that do this easier and better why chance it with this company. You have been warned!
