Excellent service, I needed an uncommon cut of meat and they gave great advice - pre-ordered to collect and all went to plan. Also picked up some bacon whilst at the unit (where there is a great little shop) it was very good value and tasted lovely. Over all i was very impressed and will be recommending to friends and family in the Chesham area.

Excellent meat and customer service. Tried their local shoulder of lamb, to die for, such depth of flavour. Also tried their Dry Aged Buckinghamshire Rib of beef, incredible taste and probably the best bit of beef ive had in years. Amazing cooking tips as well from the staff inside the shop!! : )

Good meat, appalling customer service if they make a mistake.

I ordered (months in advance) a boned, rolled and STUFFED turkey for a family meal on 9th December.

We cooked the meat, and carved it, only to find here was no stuffing. The labels on the outside (ingredients list) suggested there was stuffing inside, so this is not something we could have picked up until after cooking.

I called Godden’s to explain. The objective of my call was to inform them of their mistake and receive a refund for the difference in price of a stuffed and unstuffed turkey. I dealt with Kelly first, who was lovely, apologetic, and told me she would get back to me. I then received a call from Reuben, one of the owners and it went downhill from there. He did not apologise, but explained to me that he has no idea how this could possibly have happened, and that he would need to see some of the leftovers in order to be “sure”. He even suggested calling over to our house to look at them given that we both live in Tring. We were indirectly accused of lying. I sent across a picture of large slices of leftovers, and received a response 4 days later telling me he was still puzzled especially because his butchers could see stuffing in the picture! I was then told that it probably “squidged” out during cooking (as if I wouldn’t notice that?!!). He proceeded to tell me that there was no difference in price between stuffed and non-stuffed (nonsense), but that I could have £5 credit the next time I visit the shop. As if I will be repeating any business there?! To be clear, I won’t be returning because of the accusations of lying, not the mistake itself.

I am completely astounded that the owner can not accept that there was an error made on their part, and instead,has accused a customer of lying about a bit of stuffing. Madness.
