I needed a couple of universal beams for a small job at my house. I got the order wrong three times (first wrong quantities, then added pad-stones, then ordered too many so needed a refund!) Jon who dealt with me was awesome. Very efficient. . The price was fantastic, and it included delivery. My builder was shocked too. Highly recommend HirSteel.

I contacted Hirsteel about a month ago to ask what I needed to do in order to knock down a wall in my house. They explained everything clearly and recommended some people to help with the calculations and design specs. Then today I spoke with Matt who talked me through my requirements and specs, listed the additional bits I may need and arranged delivery at my convenience. Everyone has been very helpful, polite and efficient. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

OK so just to balance the one review here!: I ordered a steel to support roof construction of new extension (4 m beam). Needed pre drilled holes to meet engineers dimensions for rafter bolt holes. Discussed what was needed gave drawings. Hirsteel suggested different dimension holes to those on the drawings (due to an odd size). Spoke with engineer who agreed. Drawings re-done and delivered steel was spot-on within time agreed and bolted-up perfect. Just about to order another 3 m beam.

I couldn’t have had better service from Hirsteel! I called up at 4.20pm needing steel by lunchtime the next day and despite being really busy and officially just about closing time Matt helped me out making sure they had exactly what I needed in stock and promised to deliver it by 10am the next day, which they did. If you own this company you should be proud of your staff!!....great service. Ordered a steel no problems at all. The guy taking the order questioned the steel size and needless to say saved me from a big headache later on. No probs here and would recommend without a moments hesitation.

I wanted a set of doors made for my arb truck which would of been 80inches wide x 42 high with frame and sheet welded on

To call and be told no we don’t entertain things like that as it’s too small ..... well I suggest you take down the “big or small job slogan then and just have it as large jobs only considered

Not so impressed, took my small order, then after several days of chasing, decided not to make it !, so I requested they supply the steel only and I would do the welding, was told it should be a few days, now 3 weeks later and no communication, If they didn't want the work then don't take the order.
